No, the nearest is about an hour away and I don't drive! Will just order to online and hope for the best.
He does have a ball but he doesn't like it much. I at least managed to get the sand!
Typically it's pouring with rain and freezing cold today so couldn't do a cage clean anyway! Sweep of course is sleeping

Also, forgot to post these photos of Sweep the other day checking out his new toy! It is a bright orange flower pot that I got at Poundworld (NOT the same as Poundland!). They look like this and come in different colors. I got a nice Summery orange!

So, here is Sweep checking it out

Oooh, an underground cave?!

Just grab the treats!

Hello!

I'd put some bedding and treats in there to encourage him inside, and he took the treats, and pouched some of the bedding before making himself a third nest in his cage! He then destroyed one of the other nests he'd had so now he only has two! He is such a weird, but funny, boy!
Sweep will be back later - no doubt to complain that I bought him some toilet roll and that I was the one who updated his thread!

What a great hidey place for Sweep. I think I'll get one for Harvey. I'll probably end up taking the coconut out, as he doesn't really bother with it.
Sweep looking mighty handsome as always!

Lovely new toy for Sweep. Hope he appreciates the trouble you go to for him. Your question was about cleaning his substrate. Don't worry about that. A few days is no problem. I only give Mocho's Fitch a real change after many weeks because he wee's in only 2places so the main cage remains clean. I add handfuls where he flattens it and mix that up as well as replacing the wet stuff or his potty refill.

Thanks! Have just ordered more substrate and extra sand from Viovet, as the pet store nearest here only had 1 carton! They're only a small store so don't have much of anything!

Sweeps keeps kicking over his coconut ... Not sure why!
Poundworld also do stripey pots! I only didn't get a stripey one because they didn't have any

Love the photos of Sweep enjoying his flower pot, loads of fun
Great photo of him in his new nest too!

Is it plastic or terracotta? If it is plastic I would keep an eye out for chewing as some plastic flower pots can be quite brittle & break easily.

I acquired Pip a ceramic pot thing (approx 5" high by 4" across) from Poundland some time ago, thinking she could use it as a cool down place etc, but Pip being Pip dug round it till it was nearly vertical and used it as her stash pot with so much food inside it would keep her going for months so that is the stash which often over loaded.....

P.S. Pip will run across her cage to get into her ball when it is ball time of an evening she likes it that much

It's terracotta or some sort of similar material! I had to wash it out before giving it to him because I was worried about germs - no idea how many people had touched it beforehand! LOL
I don't think he likes the orange much, but didn't think he'd appreciate pink!

Hahaha Pip! So funny!

I also found I didn't have enough substrate when I did Charlie's cage clean So I ended up re-using more of the old substrate than planned. As Coco says - just leave it a while longer until the new substrate comes, and spot clean with what you have. You can spoon out stinky clumps of sand and leave the rest - until the new things arrive.
