Thank you all very much indeed. All is quiet right now but Jarvis clearly sensed he had missed something yesterday morning and was out early last evening doing a magnificent begging exercise. He may go home today, not sure yet, so he obviously wanted to make the best of his remaining time here!

Thank you ff. Today Jarvis left and has arrived home safely and gone to sleep. Here we have put away the tree and furniture back to usual positions. So it all looks rather dull.
Mocho will notice the change before long but I will be in his bad books soon because he has a vet visit on Wednesday afternoon to check his progress on the meds. To me he looks like the Chushings is being held in check.

I took our tree down today too Took me 3 hours to clean up pine needles! Glad Jarvis is settled back with his Mum but it must seem a bit bare as you say.

Back to normality now the festive celebrations are over.
Good Luck at the vet Coco, the vet will be impressed with Mocho's progress and with you.

It must seem strange when Jarvis goes home, I'm sure you'll be missing him until next time.

Mocho has been doing so well I don't imagine it will be anything but good news at the vet & I'm sure he'll forgive you for the trip, a little bribery maybe!

Vet Visit Report: Phew! Steady as we go. Mocho passed his review well. The meds are keeping all symptoms of Cushings in check. He is on a low dose and there is no need to make it stronger. His fur is nice and thick where he had lost it. Around the scent glands it is a bit thinner but only to be expected in an older hamster. His drinking is normal - fur loss and increased drinking are the earliest signs- and his weight is up a little at 172 gms so he is eating ok and the lazy boy may not be wheeling as much now.
His lower teeth need watching because they are still a little splayed. He is obviously using them because they are not too long. It was because of his teeth that I chose to take only 3 months meds and to take him back again. He will be 22months old in a week's time and looked in general good health when checked over. Good boy too-no biting!
