There's certainly plenty of choice for him there Coco! It can be hard I know, I do find that sometimes things have a bit of a novelty factor & they seem to love them only to get bored & turn their little noses up all too soon, merely a bit of a pain when it's not important but worrying when you have to give meds, fingers crossed for you that he won't be quite so fussy & will make things a little easier for you.

So, Jarvis went home last night. He is used to being here now. Certainly he came out to my calls at feeding or treat times. He came to his front door when his Mum was preparing to take him home but I was the one to scoop him out of the cage. Maybe that was because he came out to play with his Mum and Dad earlier on and GrannyHam could not resist a final treat when I was told he loves cheese. He sat up on the arm of the sofa eating daintily!
He had a little baby food a couple of times so if he ever needs to take meds, this will be a possible way.

Mocho continues to try the new varieties of baby food ok. Last night I reverted to porridge as he had left a little on the spoon the last two nights. It all vanished and the spoon licked clean so I know the whole dose went down. I am sure his fur looks better after 2weeks now. This could be the meds, or the mite treatment or just his winter coat growing. I will take a photo before his vet visit in a couple of weeks and post that.

That was a long stay/holiday for Jarvis, he sure loves visiting his grannyham cause she spoils him. So deserves to be. Great to hear Mocho's fur is looking better, I think it's a mix of his meds, mite treatment and your unconditional love and tasty treats.

Oh I'm so glad he's doing well! He really loves his porridge doesn't he?! I must try some with Sweep for a special treat - which one can I use?

Luckily my husband likes porridge in winter so I bought a bag of organic oats (Flahavan's) from the supermarket. It's a 1kg bag so human help is needed to eat it!
I take no more than a level teaspoon of oats and add 1-2 teaspoons of water and let it soak for a bit. I microwave it for 20secs. In a small pot. Then it is far too hot so I let it cool down to warm. Then put as much as you want to try onto a cold teaspoon and hold spoon while eaten! I am able to prepare this close to the cage so I believe Mocho smells the hot porridge and when it is still warm in his cage he comes out very quickly for it or is already out waiting. I give it to him at evening feeding time. Others do it at breakfast time if their hammy is out and about.
I think my daughter used Ready Brek last winter with hers so that is another choice.

I think Jarvis is going to be missed!

Good to hear Mocho is doing well & his coat is looking better, I would imagine any improvement is going to be a combination of things but as long as something is working & he enjoys his med laced treats that's all that matters, I'm sure you must be relieved to be seeing even a slight change in him though.
I was reading something about the lignans in flax seeds being of possible benefit in canine cushings (not sure how good or definitive the research was but interesting all the same) so maybe they help with hams too, being such a good food for them & enjoyed by most there may be another hidden benefit we didn't even know about!

I think I may have to spoil my two tonight after all this talk of porridge! Tinwë wouldn't dream of touching it but the others love it, so do I so there's always a bag of oats in my house!

Thanks for that. Do have some ready brek in actually. Wasn't sure if it was too sugary, but I guess not if it's neat for children?!

Thanks to other posts you have made here cypher, I did buy linseeds and he has those on his food mix. I know he likes them as they have always gone next morning.
I added some to Jarvis' food too!
Is there any difference in the 2colours? I have both.
