Re: Please may we present-Jarvis and Mocho...
Glad to hear all well and your visitors have gone back to their Mum and Dad - although it must be a bit like empty ham-nest syndrome! Although maybe a relief as well. I find I spend enough time feeding one hamster! But he does get spoiled. Fingers crossed for Jarvis at the vets.
I'm sure Mocho will be tempted with porridge! They have so many hidey places in the Barney cage it's understandable why they don't always want to come out really!

Re: Please may we present-Jarvis and Mocho...
It must seem very quiet now but I'm sure Mocho will appreciate being sole-ham-in-residence again & porridge will be much appreciated
I really hope Jarvis will be ok & his eye can be sorted out without too much stress for either him or his extended family, fingers crossed.

Glad your visitors enjoyed their stay granny ham. Little Mocho will be aware of the quietness now they're gone, hopefully he'll be more sociable.
Fingers crossed for Jarvis's eye.

Re: Please may we present-Jarvis and Mocho...
Just to bring this thread up to date with the landmark first birthdays of Jarvis yesterday and Mocho today.
A couple more photos from those offered on the birthday thread.
In this first one Mocho looks so worried by it all

And the final one was whispering in Twinkle's ear wanting some reassurance!
Cypher-sorry I had nothing for a dwarfie at the party!

He looks interested to me! And it definitely looks like he's nibbling Twinkle's ear

I was so lucky to get those last two. Wonder what TL and the Diva will think about Mocho being so daring!

Aww happy birthday to Jarvis & Mocho
Looks like Mocho is learning what birthday fun means bless him, he does look a little wary in the first shot but the second is so cute & really does make me wonder too

Re: Please may we present-Jarvis and Mocho...
Update on Jarvis. They dropped in here after the vet visit. Jarvis was awake and fine in his carrier. I produced Mocho's birthday treats for him to have some. One I had emptied into a box, some Rosewood natural heart shaped nibbles in 3 colours. Having pouched those offered he tried to get into the box! So I guess those went down ok!
The vet said it is a cyst. Hamsters are prone to these on the eyelid he said. Drops for 2/3weeks to see if that resolves it without surgery. Jarvis behaved beautifully. Vet commented that with all he was doing he would expect him to be wriggling and trying to bite. But not this laid back one, bless him.
Also vet pronounced him a beautiful boy with a coat colour like the true wild golden hamster. Best he had seen. Jarvis's parents and 4 grandparents were bred by Tristar Hamstery though he was not.
Attached is an old photo but shows the difference from his umbrous cousin Mocho.
