I've been keeping up with Charlie's thread even when I've not been posting much on the forums. It's lovely to hear about him! Love his escape antics, naughty old man!

He'll be having a quiet time for a couple of days now Can't have too much excitement all at once lol. And I think he is a bit bothered that I've taken his hemp mats off the shelves, but I had to really - it was like loft insulation on top of his house and it's so warm! I put a new treat stick out tonight and he had fresh peas for his veg (2 of them) so that should cheer him up and distract him from the missing hemp mats. And another woody carrot chew thing - he goes potty for those and they have been well gnawed.

I have been away for 10 days on a family/hospital visit and other half has been following a colour coded chart for feeding Charlie Charlie has been fine with this by the sound of it as his veg has regularly appeared at the right time and in the right place, plus his other extras. I was a bit worried about being away and his water bottle as he does seem to have a few issues with it these days, so also left a little dish with just a slight covering of water in it, to be replaced each day, but he seems to just ignore it lol! So he must be managing ok with the water bottle.

He has become a bit independent again with not being out while I've been away and the first night didn't seem to recognise me and just sat in a little house on the floor. Last night he was very active in his half playpen area and zipping around and chewing the carpet and the corner of the playpen and sat for a little cuddle with his ears up so I think he knows things are back to normal again. I left him a Rosewood dandelion chew while I was away and am happy he is now chewing chews again. It had been well and truly chewed at, and so have his woody vegetable chews. So all seems well in Charlie's world. His back legs seem even stiffer but he still zips about like crazy and has clearly adjusted to using them differently.

I am sure Charlie is happy to have you back even if he has been left to his own devices for so long. I didn't get the visitors out here and they were always glad to get back to normal.
The issue with his teeth is well and truly over and it's good for him to be chewing ok again.

It must have been strange for both of you being apart for that amount of time, good to hear Charlie soon got over it & forgave you
He does sound as though he's doing well & coping with his stiff legs without too much of a problem.

To be honest things were so hectic while I was away I didn't have much time to think about missing Charlie, other than a phone call each night to check other half had followed my colour coded feeding instructions ok! And a report that Charlie had been out for his veg.

He is doing fine. I really need to do a partial clean and have been finding it difficult finding the opportunity. Mornings and evenings are too busy at the moment, and if I do it late at night it takes me hours as I'm tired lol! And he is very active at that time. So might have to do it mid afternoon and wake him and pop him in his pet carrier, rather than leave it any longer and waiting for a good morning lol. I need to know what is under that house ha ha. Probably a ginormous hoard.

He has now moved back to his regular nest from the little tiny compartment he moved into when it was hot, but I think there is so much food under it he can't fit enough nesting material in, so it does need a bit of a sort out. The long nail seems to have sorted itself (maybe he chewed it, I don't know) but now there is another one. So need to get him in a dopey mood another day. I don't think he'd like having a partial clean and a nail clipping all in one go.

I started weaning him off the baby food ages ago but never quite stopped it. He doesn't actually need it now but he loves it so much and is eating absolutely everything in sight, so I am still putting a little bit out each night. Hey he's old and he loves it. As long as he is chewing his chews (as he is) his teeth should stay fine.

I've been getting fresh goodies in the supermarket. A couple of days ago he had a spinach leaf and I have some fresh parsley (the curly kind) and some fresh cress in a pot. Can't seem to find the safe food list, so do you know if parsely and cress are ok Cypher?

I know parsley is - though I don't even know what it is! Can't remember about cress though ...

I think it must be because I got him a rosewood parsley bell once - which he completely ignored lol. Not sure about cress, but I think it's ok if chopped and not putting the whole pot in.

Cress is fine, some people put the whole pot in but it would probably just get trampled!
I would just chop a few little bit off & see if he likes it.
Parsley is fine too but I think you figured that out already

I know just what you mean about finding the right moment for a bit of a clean lol! I'm having the same problem here.
