Yes cowhide n rawhide seem to be the same but i can't. Seem to find any information on whether it's harmful to hammies.

As for the dog biscuits there were a total fail but since he got his wheel installed he's not chewing as much. The dog biscuit had been totally ignored and for some reason he's gone back to sleep at midnight after being up just a few hours. He did have a run around my bed earlier but I'm worried he' getting frustrated with his wheel. Am i being a fuss ball? He seemed excited playing with me earlier but i don't want him to be unhappy.

Haha yh it makes me laugh when he pushes my finger away especially because he's so nonchalant about it like 'can you not touch me, I'm busy' 😂😂😂

They can certainly get bored, and be understimulated by their environment, but it would have to be a pretty sparce environment for that to happen, given how much they can get into exploring a box of tissues and the like.

Frustration implies they have a goal of some sort that is being thwarted Aside from their moment to moment wants, my hams aren't particularly goal oriented that I can see , lol......and no one knows if they think they are traveling on the wheels or they know its a wheel...? Whats with the stop, look.....go back to running bit then? or changing direction....

Being overworried and fussy seems to come with owning a hammy, given their ability to keep us lower species guessing as to what exactly they think they are doing at any given time

I'm such a worry wart. I'll just let him be. I guess once he figures out he can't climb up the wheel he'll use it more.
