They can certainly get bored, and be understimulated by their environment, but it would have to be a pretty sparce environment for that to happen, given how much they can get into exploring a box of tissues and the like.
Frustration implies they have a goal of some sort that is being thwarted
Aside from their moment to moment wants, my hams aren't particularly goal oriented that I can see , lol......and no one knows if they think they are traveling on the wheels or they know its a wheel...? Whats with the stop, look.....go back to running bit then? or changing direction....
Being overworried and fussy seems to come with owning a hammy, given their ability to keep us lower species guessing as to what exactly they think they are doing at any given time
