Smile Gus's Thread

So happy right now - been trying to tame Gus for a while and yesterday we put him in the bathtub with some of his toys and water bottle etc. I managed to get him to walk onto my hand (with gloves on) and he got into my cupped hands (again with gloves on) and I was able to lift him a little before he got spooked and jumped out. So pleased right now!

I've had him for about two months but have been slow on the taming because the first few times he bit me hence the gloves. However he responded really well, I wonder if it's because I was attempting to handle him outside of his cage so he wasn't so territorial?

It might be that handling him outside the cage helped, I'm glad you did so well yesterday

Good to hear you're making progress. Taking him out of the cage may well have helped, once he's got used to that he should be better in the cage too & get out of the biting habit. Just let him takes his time & you'll get there
