Re: Bilbo's thread
Yes and he always has his bags for life (pouches!) with him too.
He loves his mealworms and broccoli. Haven't tried scrambled egg yet, that's next.
He has been out in the ball four four evenings now, just a few minutes each time. He sits and washes when we put the ball on our laps. I think I will try me and him in a dry bath tonight and see if he will sit on me without the ball.

I really love these 2 photos BilboOlaf.
How cute what your son says when he sees Bilbo out getting food.

Re: Bilbo's thread
Here are a couple of new pics of Bilbo, taken on Friday last week. He's in his playpen, which is a deep, large cardboard box with the top flaps cut off. In the first pic he is playing in his hidey house, an old cat food carton! In the foreground is his treasure box - an old four slot egg box in which we put the treats of the day. Friday's was rice crispies and a few sunflower seeds. I also put toys in there which he doesn't usually have in his cage, such as a bridge, small boxes etc.
Helping himself to the treasure box.
Taming is going ok but slowly. He is quite happy to be stroked, in fact he likes to be stroked for up to ten minutes at a time! But, he is very skittish at being picked up and won't yet walk onto my hand from the ball or a cardboard tube.

Re: Bilbo's thread
Love that shot of him in the box, looks like he's keeping a wary eye on that cat!

Re: Bilbo's thread
Success last night! Bilbo wanted to climb out of the ball and onto my chest. He climbed all over my arms and sat on my shoulder. He was ok being picked up and put back in place, hooray! I think we are well on the way now.
But...just as I was getting him ready to go back in the ball to be carried back to his cage, he slithered down my trouser leg, off the sofa and ran underneath! I got a torch and lay on the floor, my husband was laughing his head off. Luckily it was only a short escape, as I saw him making for one end and as he emerged I plopped his open ball on top of him. Phew!
Will need to be extra careful tonight

Re: Bilbo's thread
Just an update on the taming. I have been using an old plastic tumbler to collect Bilbo from the cage and put him in his ball. It seems as though he does not want to be picked up when in the cage...fair enough!
He is happy to come onto my lap from the ball though, and last night, finally, he did a few minutes of hand to hand walking. Whoopee! Will get my husband to take pics tonight.
The only one not pleased is the cat. He has to leave the room when Bilbo is out.
