Edit: sorry got you confused with someone else.

Maybe just in a bad mood? If it's not a recurring thing I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Did she know you were coming? I always talk to my hamsters before I reach my hand out, sometimes I rustle their bedding as my hand gets closer so they know it's there. Maybe you just surprised her?

If she doesn't normally bite I agree that you probably just startled her, always best to talk to them & make some noise as you approach & try not to come at them from above if you can avoid it.

The only time my hamster bit me was when I had hamburger grease on my hands from cooking and forgot to wash my hands xD I smelled like dinner!

There are lots of reasons- maybe you frightened or surprised her, or maybe she was in heat (some females can be moody when in heat) or maybe she just didn't want to play at that moment if it was just a one-off I wouldn't worry

she wasn't mad or anything, it wasn't the first time it happened, she almost bit me when the same thing happened.

Has she been fully tamed? It's never advisable to try to pick up a hamster that doesn't want to be picked up.
