Peekaboo Pikachu
Hello all!
This is my new girl Pikachu (Pika for short). She's very scared at the moment and I am using all my willpower to stay away and not cuddle.
I'm not sure what colour she is, what do you think?
Just thought I would introduce her!!

Re: Peekaboo Pikachu
Very pretty, she looks like a black eyed cream to me but I am by far no expert

Re: Peekaboo Pikachu
Ah thank you! She (in my obviously unbiased opinion) is such a little cutie, really reminds me of pikachu! In some pictures it even looks like she has little rosy cheeks!

Re: Peekaboo Pikachu
Greetings to you, Gracelilian and your gorgeous little black eyed cream Pikachu.
Is she settling in now and not so scared?

Re: Peekaboo Pikachu
She is slightly better now, very jumpy. I've been sitting the (empty) bath with her and she will run and jump all over me but as soon as I move she hides in my clothes. Also, not related to her being scared but I haven't seen her pouch anything yet, she just eats it there and then. Is this normal?

Re: Peekaboo Pikachu
It sounds normal. If a hamster wants to eat something it will take the food from you and eat it, if it doesn't feel like it there and then, then it will pouch the food. I wouldn't worry about it.
I am sure, given time when she is more used to you, she will be less jumpy. Everything is new and strange for her with you.
Good luck with taming her.

Re: Peekaboo Pikachu
I've found with a couple of my dwarfs they didn't pouch anything at all for a while, maybe they don't really do it until they're a little older or more settled or maybe she just hasn't begun to make a stash yet, I'm sure once she's chosen a safe place for her hoard she'll be pouching with the best of them!
