Default Not ham-less for long

After a very expensive month (whoever said hamsters were cheap pets?!!) and loosing my poor little Bellatrix I had thought I wasn't sure if I wanted another.

However, I missed having a little fluff to fuss and spotted this little (or actually rather large lady!) in the rescue section at the local p@h

She looked very depressed hence I felt I needed to take her home and make her life happy! She was sweet to handle even in the shop. The p@h worker told me how sweet she was and how happy she was she was going to a knowledgable home which felt good she is about 12 weeks old. She was being over looked in the shop for the smaller baby boys as she was bigger, fatter, a 'boring' colour (the picture doesnt show how big she is- she is a similar size to the breeder syrians i have seen) and a girl. I was smitten.

Within a couple of days she was climbing onto my hand confidently and I am already letting her out in a hamster proof room for playtime. She is a chunk, as daft as a brush and just genuinely lovely- just what I needed after loosing my sweet girl. We took a while choosing a name but have settled on Luna. Will try and get some pictures soon as she is a lot happier looking now!

She isnt a 'boring' colour. She looks lovely from the colours I can see. Well done in rescueing her.

Shes a standard golden which are not quite as popular with the kids apparently I think she is lovely! She is having a roam of the lounge as we speak and has just shoved over a full box of bonio biscuits to climb inside! She's so strong and solid- Bella was always very little and delicate. I'm glad i've found a hamster completely different from her so I can't compare them
