Default Meet Ace!

So after consulting a lot of breeders around Georgia and Florida, I finally caved in and got a hamster from my local Pet Super Market. She's about 4 - 7 weeks old, a cream banded Syrian hamster female who I've affeciontately named Ace. I estimate she's 5 weeks old, making her born on August 2nd.

She hasnt bitten so far, an ocassional hiss due to my own personal mess up but I soon retreated and realized that was a bad mistake and I gave her a lot of time to recover. She's a sweet girl, she really is. She's let me hold her a lot (compared to my other hamsters she's doing pretty good with handling, I'd say she's pretty much tame, a tadbit skittish but still!) - and hasnt really accepted food from me yet, but I'm not going to rush it.

I have a new YouTube Vlog channel where i'mma uploading things about my pets, eventually also other vlogs when I get a higher quality camera.

Mortimer died : ( He had a bad upper respitory infection, but I did supply antibiotics as best I could. Rest in peace little prince.

Sorry about Mortimer.

What are you going to do with your other two hamsters you're having trouble with?

She looks cute and I'm sorry about Mortimer but I thought you were already struggling to tame your existing hamsters and were going to wait until your existing pets were sorted before you got another?

I'm still working with them, Puffin I wasnt really having that much trouble with in the beginning but I hope to build both Ace & Fessie the same cage that ErinsHamsters (from YouTube) (the Ikea Lack Cage) has for maybe around Christmastime. If I cant do both at the same time, then possibly I could do at least one for whoever is biggest at the time. I mean I know Ace deserves it too, but if she's super small at the time I'm building the cage I'm not going to bother cause I dont want her getting hurt in a huge new cage and possibly freak out too.

Though I highly doubt I can build two at the same time my fingers are crossed! My hopes for this Christmas are also to get a newer, higher quality camera so I can start posting on my Vlog and that way I can show people more stuff that I've been doing so hopefully that'll work out.

While I havent been working with Fessie these past couple of days, I know thats bad but I am sick right now with a throat cold. I'm going to try and clean out their cages maybe in a week or so because recently I saw a spider in their (mainly Fessies) cage >_< ! Then I'll hopefully start working with her again soonish.

When that happens, I'll see if I can redocrate my hamsters cages for Halloween if I get there on time.

Edit - One of my goals is hopefully by Christmas is to give my entire room a complete cleanup/makeover and have my parents help me with that so any germs or bacteria invovled my animals will be safer from like, my mouse dying, or any bugs that may be back in the corners they wont have to deal with that anymore. I'm also planning on using safe disinfectants.

I'd concentrate on taming your hamsters right now, and worry about making youtube videos and themed cages later. Once your hamsters are tame, then you can bond with them. That's far more important than youtube videos

Of course! I understand what you're saying, I just have a throat cold right now and I cant really do ANYTHING with my animals-related >_< !! So I have to stay put. Today I hope when my mom gets back from her meeting I want to eat soup and drink juice as much as I can

Er... I'm confused. How long have you had Ace? I got the impression you bought her really recently and have been handling her but now I get the impression you're too ill to handle hams? Have you had her a few days and then got the cold or have you been handling her with the cold?
Sorry but I'm really confused now...

I agree with Hekomi that its best to focus on taming your pets before you worry about anything else like new cages e.t.c
