Chai is one of our lovely ladies who came home September 3rd. She was born July 25th, 2014 to the lovely Binase and Ezekiel at Nancy/ST's Hamstery. Binase was a first time mum with a huge litter but did FANTASTICALLY.
Chai is tame, however a bit skittish and jumpy. She is friendly and has not tried to bite me at all. I found out today she looooves peach. She's small, but I know she will grow to be a good size, just like her mummy.
Her colouring is: Dove Tort Solid Satin SH.
Her genes are: aaE_ppTotoSasaLl if I am correct in that!
She's a bit shy. Here are some pictures of her from her first day here.
Her yellow patches are mostly on her tummy, and some on her face, but they're a bit hard to make out with the satin sheen. Her sister was a normal dove tort and had such lovely yellow markings, however as she lacked satin (and that was a gene we really wanted to include) we decided to go with Chai instead.
Here are some pictures I took of her last night! Her tank is mostly purple, with a pink bowl. I think it compliments her colours nicely.
"Yummy yum yum."
"This is my good side."
My SO thinks she's adorable, and even though he may think her eyes are a bit alarming, they're quite a dark ruby and I think just gorgeous. I love the dove colouring.
"STREEETCH" lookit that cute little hammy bum!
"I am so cute, so so cute!"
She's a sweetheart, and loves sunflower seeds too. No handling pictures yet, as the room they're in is pretty cramped and as she is a bit nervous and jumpy, I don't want my SO to worry about dropping her. I might get him to take some pictures of me handling her in a few days though. She'll sit with me nicely, but then again I'm a bit better at handling jumpy babies!
We're hoping she grows to be a splendid young lady, as Biscotti is already writing love letters to her (I tried to tell him he was just a baby, he said age didn't matter... hamsters for ya!). Since she is solid AND is cinnamon, she can confirm if Scotti also carries cinnamon like we think he does, as well as cream. Plus dove tort dom spot satin SHs just sounds like heaven.
I'll update with pictures as she gets bigger!
