Default Pebbles isnt well :/

Pebbles hasnt really recovered from being kinda ill from the last 6 months, but shes been doing ok, and the vets couldnt find anything x

as some of you know, she only has one bottom tooth. though sadly now, shes lost the other, and like the other, its not growing back :S so her top teeth are getting a bit long, but nothing that needs treating yet.

Though other than that, shes in bad shape :S she sleeps most of the time, doesnt climb, doesnt use her climbing frame or wheel, and struggles to eat hard foods. So shes on a dwarf hamster mix, unshelled sunflower seeds and baby food. and of course veg x

Her back ends even more dirty, her fur is dull, her eyes seem to be sunken a bit, and shes unsteady on her feet and really delicate and small.

I had a scare today, i lifted up her hut to check her, and she was barely breathing, not moving like normally when shes disturbed.
I told my boyfriend, becuase it scared me, and he stroked her and still nothing, picked her up and she was just limp.

He thought she was dead, i thought she was on her way out and started to prepare myself, and though at least i can be with her if she passes now. But once he put her on my lap, she stood up and starting running around.

I dont know whats going on, i think she needs her teeth done too soon, but in the shape she is i really doubt she would make the anesthetic.
I dont want to stress her out any more, i dont know how long she has left :S x

Any thoughts? x

Oh bless her. Poor Pebbles. <3

I honestly don't think it would be worth taking her for her teeth to be done. As you said, as fragile as she is, I don't think she would cope under anesthetic. I would just continue as you are, keeping her content and comfortable.
There's no definitive way of saying how long she might have, all you can do is keep nursing her as you have been, so she is comfy and happy. You're doing everything that you can.

Sending love to Pebbles and you, give her a snuggle from me xxx

Hi Gazmo. It sounds that Pebbles is just an old hammy. She also sounds like a hammy who still has time yet, if she's able to wake up and run around. I would make sure her teeth are taken care of so they don't become an issue that would cause Pebbles pain. I think it is far worse to have her teeth damage her mouth than her going to the bridge while under anesthesia. Just watch her and those teeth. Pebbles is such a lovely old girl.

Poor little girl, that must be so hard for you to have to see but I'm sure you're doing everything that's best for her. Thinking of you both.

Oh Gazmo, so sorry to hear Pebbles has not been recovering, can imagine this is a worry. Bless her.

Keep an eye on her teeth and baby food/porridge is a good idea to keep her strength up!

Sending healing vibes for this little one. x
