Young Humfry is very cute! I've almost forgotten what my humfry looks like! He came out of his burrow on Sunday night gone midnight just as I was about to go to bed so I only spent a few minutes letting him have a scramble over me & the sofa. Not seen him since!! Never came out Monday evening (apart from a sneaky dash to pick up a bit of celery when I was not watching!). I do hope young Humfry is more sociable!!

I love them! My desperation for another hamster has been somewhat quenched by the troubles we have had recently, but the long hair gorgeousness of humfrey jr makes me go all squishy again.

OK to my screen Honey looks Hetrozygous Silver Gray and she is banded. The reddish/purple like glow could mean she carries Cinnamon. She's lovely

Now for Humpfy:
Here's a picture of my current Male Mataz who is a Polywhite Black Dominant Spot short hair and shows just how red their eyes will glow with a light source. In natural lighting in the house he has Black eyes with a slight red glow to them.

Here is a shot that shows Mataz even has tiny spots of black on his caboose side

And here's Spilas(may she RIP) who was a dump off at my local pet store who I think was a Dominant Spot Wh gene Black as her eyes never were as bright as Mataz's are. Plus she had much more black on her head then any Polywhite Dominant Spot Hamsters I've seen or have.

I've had Black Dominant Spots that had red glow to their eyes which produced Anophthalmic Whites.
Tigeress:

Tigeress' eyes needed bright light to show the red circle eye coloring BUT she also carried for Cinnamon so until she produced 4 eyeless white pups I had no clue she was WhDs Black. That was back many years ago but I had a rescue Hamster here who looked like a normal Dove band who was pregnant when surrendered who presented me with 4 more Anophthalmic white pups. Sire was the owners Banded Mink Male. Yet more reason to not breed pattern to pattern with unknown background Hamsters.

I also was told there is no Polywhites in the UK show Hamster world but I'm sure the commercial farms could have some and they could start showing up over there in amounts like they are showing up in pet stores here. They call them Dalmatian Hamsters UGH. I have seen some in several of our chain stores named Pets Supplies Plus and they sell quick even at $26.00 each and to think Mataz only cost me $10.00.

Either way Humfry Jr is adorable and so sweet looking in pics and since he is a pet it really doesn't matter much if he is with the Wh(roan) gene, or the Polywhite gene. All that matters is he is super and beautiful, and he's all yours Haha.

What lovely hams you have Nancy thank you so much for sharing

Humfry is lovely whatever type he is and whatever he may or may not carry in his genes. I don't plan to breed from any of my hamsters, the risk for eyeless white pups is just too great as far as I am concerned, and I could never go through that, or put my hams through that.

Humfry is pretty social honestly, but I'm trying so hard not to get him out every time he asks, I really don't want to over-do it and have him getting ill he's such a lovely, sweet little boy I have to say LH hams are totally gorgeous, and I definitely have a soft spot for them.

I'm sorry to read about your recent troubles Corrie, maybe when the timing is right you will be able to add another fluff and it can be a gorgeous long haired hammy.
I've been hoping for a great outcome for Molly. Benny is currently poorly I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him too x
