Bear Is Gone

I came home on Sunday night to find Bears cage door open and no sign of her. We've searched the whole house top to bottom. The back door was left open for the dogs so I can only imagine she has ventured outside....im gutted. I maybe didnt build up a bond with her but I loved her nonetheless. I won't be taking on any more hamsters until I feel ready and I'll be concentrating on the 3 I know have. Ugh I feel awful! Im taking a break from the forum for a while.Thanks for the support guys. Means alot.

Don't give up hope! She might still be in the house. I itiate the protocal for an escape, closed dooors, flour on the floor, etc. Hamsters are quite durable, our class hamster escaped while at a classmates house over vacation, it was gone for over three weeks!

Oh my goodness! :O Oh SH, I can only imagine how worried and devastated you feel. But as cowgirlskipper said, don't give up hope! Make sure all the doors are shut and set as many hammy traps as you can. I really hope she is just hiding somewhere awkward and that she hasn't ventured outside. I really, really hope you find her.

Come back little Bear! We have fingers and toes crossed that she turns up safe xxx

Don't worry. Hamsters always come out at night. Just stay calm and wait till about 6 or 7. Then, hopefully, Bear will come out and you can catch her.

I lost Mio for exactly 2 weeks. I know, she's a gecko, but don't give up hope of you don't find her quickly. Fingers crossed for you. xxx

I'm rooting for Bear to be somewhere in the house still! Call it a strong hunch....

I've had rodents escape before and never had them leave the apt or house...keep in mind how big a house is to them....

I am so sorry, it is just terrible and utterly devastating when accidents like this happen. How long has she been missing? Was her cage upstairs or downstairs? Are there any small places that she could be hiding, such as under the cooker or behind a cabinet? Have you tried sprinkling flour across all the doorways?

Don't give up yet All my fingers are crossed for you, I really hope that little bear is safe and comes home soon. x

Still no sign of my gorgeous girly. She's been gone a week now. We've looked everywhere and can't find her. It doesn't look good .

I FOUND HER!!! Thankfully she is back . I am so so happy. She looks a little skinny but seems to be OK.
