Syrian hamster color help?

No they don't always. Only black eyed creams have the dark ears. Red eyed creams have flesh coloured or sometimes they brown a little at the edges as the hamster gets older. A pattern also takes colour off the ears and they can appear mottled if the base colour has dark ears.

I am also having a similar problem figuring out what kind of color my hamster is. I cannot view your picture but maybe they are the same type.
My hamster also has black eyes and is a male Syrian. His ears are pink with black dots on top. His face is orange and so is his bum, his belly and middle is all white except for 3 small spots on his back. I will attach some photos so you can see.IMG_20140622_200308.jpg

That looks like a black eyed cream banded hamster to me. His ears have a bit of black at the top, and in the first picture it's easier to see his eyes.

As for second hamster I agree with Hekomi BEC Banded Long Haired and very nice looking too.
