Default cages

ive been loooking for a new cage for pasta lately as i feel his current is roo small and that he gets bored, however all the decently sized cages are ridiculously expensive. i was thinking it might be better to switch to a tank, if so what size do i need?

Er... I think with tanks its a minimum of 30 gallons and 40 gallons is best.

For a big cheap cage there's always the Alaska - Small Pet Cages ? Alaska Hamster Cage: Free Delivery on orders £19+ at zooplus!

If you're not wanting to spend out on a glass aquarium and you're still set on a tank style cage you could look at the ZooZone 2 but you would need to mesh the lid

Silver lists all the secondhand tanks she finds on eBay on the Bargain Cages thread, so worth keeping an eye on that to see if any nice big ones come up in your area at a decent price.

PS These wide Exo Terras are my favourite kind of tank - big secure access doors and a mesh top for good ventilation:
