Lightbulb Cage cleaning time.

I'm going to do a good clean on Daisy's cage. I've had her 3weeks (she not tame) so she going in her ball while I clean her cage.
I've been spot cleaning her cage ie new bedding and potty clean.
This is her first good clean.
Should I leave some of her bedding in so it got her scent on it. As she still not tame she getting better, so don't want to upset her.

I usually do leave just a little to sprinkle around in the cage I read it reduces stress (but it could also just be that I am just an obsessive hammie mum. )

I cleaned it all out. She seems very happy tho.
She doing her normal things like biting the bars on her cage. Argh
She even tries to bite her ball. Worried she will break her teeth, as she can get them through the gaps.

I'm relatively new here too (and I am sure there are some more seasoned forum members who could give some advice), but also read that sometimes hams bar chew because of lack of space...what kind/size cage do you have? I'll see if I can find the post that addressed bar chewing...

I always leave some old bedding in. Bear can act strange if I do a full clean without any of his old bedding.

My cage is a genus 200. I think it's a bit small, but we got tubes going to a travel case from dreamland. We getting extra tubes and another cage to link up to it.
She will be so much better when she tame.
She will get out more once she tame. As ill be able to watch tv and have her out. And more often

I'm getting her in the bath, with toys that I only use for bath. Just try picking her up, she has good and bad days, some days she just bites me all the time. Other days I'll manage to pick her up for a few seconds.

I'm sure she'll be tame in no time bear took a while and a lot of patients, but it's worth it, he's brilliant now

I would say that if you can get her a bigger cage, you might find you have a less stressed & biting hamster & it makes taming a bit easier. I have 2 rescue Syrians that were manic in the little cages I first saw them in, biting bars & not calming down at all. I have now got them in 80 x 50cm cages & they calmed down almost straight away, becoming much easier to handle & not biting the bars at all any more. We have a 2nd hand hamster heaven & an Alaska off zoo plus.

I would always leave a bit of the old bedding as it has their familiar scent & they find this less stressful.
