How much veg can I give Daisy
Hi, can someone help me. Daisy loves broccoli, but how much can she have?
I don't want to over feed her on broccoli.
She has a bit of broccoli or carrot most nights.

Re: How much veg can I give Daisy
I feed veggies/fruits to my hamsters once a week as replacement for seed mix. But I belive you can give Daisy a bit of broccoli daily or every other day as a treat. I would go for piece as big as 10-12 grams. Just watch out for overfeeding veggies since it can lead to health problems such as wet tail and stuff.

Re: How much veg can I give Daisy
Thanks, maybe I better cut down on her veg a bit. Don't want her to get ill.

Re: How much veg can I give Daisy
I give my Syrians 1.5 teaspoons of their dry mix (Silver's mix) every day plus two teeny bits of fresh veg, maybe 1cm x 0.5cm or a bit smaller. They have a variety of veg; green pepper, broccoli, kale, cucumber. If they haven't taken their mix from the day before I don't give any more mix that day, I don't want them to pick & choose, I want them to have their whole balanced diet! This works ok for us & they get little treats now & again like monkey nuts or extra pupmkin seeds . I see the veg as an extra rather than as the main part of their food.

Yes veg is ok but I would limit the amount; veg should be only a small part of a hamster's diet really. Do you give a mix too?
