Ouch
I'm trying to tame daisy. In the bath. I just tried Putting my hand down with a treat
on it but she just bit my hand. Feel like I'm getting nowhere.
I'm not in the bath with her.

Re: Ouch
Did you start by talking to her ?? It's often better to start off like that !

Re: Ouch
We always talking to her. She will take treats from fingers just not my
hand she just bites it. At least she having a run around. Would a towel
be better in bath, we don't put nothing on bottom just toys and a bottle
over plug hole.

Re: Ouch
Maybe putting a towel in the bath is great ! I personally would do it ! How long have you been finger-feeding her??

Re: Ouch
About 4 or 5 days finger feeding her.
Would a towel help in bath? I'm not getting
in with her, as she keeps bitting. Xx

Re: Ouch
Definitely put a towel in the bath. It is softer and warmer unfer foot for her.
If you're leaning over the bath the bath she's probably scared if she's young and not used to it. I've found it's always better to approach them from being on the same level as them.
Try feeding her from your hand whilst she's still in her cage. That way she's in familiar surroundings, she feels secure, is not going to escape and if she feels frightened she has her bed to retreat to instead of reacting by biting you.

Re: Ouch
All of the above!
I'd also recommend making sure that your hands do not smell of anything vaguely food-like. It sounds like a no-brainer, but my Timi sometimes has a nip just after I've put food in his bowl because my fingers smell of his food. Don't forget that Hams have limited eyesight so most of their navigation is based on smell. I recommend alcohol hand gel or a moisturising soap - most of the soaps I use are from Lush and have very strong flowery smells, but this way Timi knows it's me, and not food!

Re: Ouch
Yeah I lean over the bath with her. If I got in bath, I think she would bite me and climb on me to get out, and she can get behind our bath and into bricks as there is a hole in bricks so I'm told.
I did manage to get hold of her to put her back into her cage. Normally I have to get her into spare tube and put that into the door for her to come out.
