Re: Hey
Awww he is adorable Pinkneon! and I quite like Duck haha I would've never thought of that name I think it may be too soon to tell the colour, I'd wait it out a little bit. Cupcake was literally black when I got her, then she became brownish and then she was light brown and black and Souffle confirmed she is indeed a Yellow Black. But it took a few months before her colour enriched and stabilized
@ GIS yes Sables have eye rings.

Re: Hey
Aw, Duck looks adorable. So glad you have opened your heart to a new furball.
I think we are all different in our grieving processes and only we can decide when we are ready for a new little angel. After Fluffy passed, I actually got Cheeto only a week later. But when I saw her, I just knew she had to be mine and I am thankful for her every single day. But with Roxy, it has been different. She has been gone about a month and I haven't been able to get someone new yet. I've looked and whatnot but it hasn't felt quite right yet.
Anyway... I can't wait to see more of your new addition! xx

Re: Hey
The time is right when your heart is ready to share a new little ones life. Congratulations on your new baby - he is adorable. You will soon have him nice and tame I'm sure. He will soon grow a name as you get to know each other. Beau? Prince?
edit ...oh he has a name! Very cute Duck

Re: Hey
He is gorgeous! I don't think it's too soon everyone is different. Pebbles I got the day after Poppy passed & Daisy a couple of days after Cookie (she'd been unsold in a Pet Shop for 6 months!). It just felt right. The soonest I ever got a new one was Penny. I was asked to rehome her the day I lost Huxley. I didn't want too & was not ready but I took her on, it hurt like mad to be honest, as Huxley was my first ham. However I don't regret it at all now, as she is one of the most sweetest hamsters I've ever owned.
I'm sure this little fella is going to be so much fun.

Re: Hey
I must admit I know when the time comes for Fudge, although I do NOT want to think about it, I think I would have to get another ham quite soon after unless it really didn't feel right. When I lost my last mouse back in May I went out and got 3 more the next day. I'm one of those people that needs small furries in their life and I can't stand the sight of the cage sitting there empty plus I know I'd be giving another little one a good home.
He does look like he's going to be lots of fun when he's settled in, can't wait to see how his colour develops as he gets older
