Overweight Syrian?
After comfirming that my robo was at a healthy weight, 24 grams, I decided to weight my Holly out of curiosity. She weighs 185 grams and is 5 inches or 12.7 cm long. Is she pudgy? I will admit that I feed her treat or two daily.
Here is a picture of her if you need it.

Re: Overweight Syrian?
She looks fine and healthy to me The weight range for Syrians is massive, anything from 90g to 200g+ can be classed as healthy, depending on the ham. As long as she eats fine, is generally healthy, and hasn't lost or gained a massive amount of weight recently, I'd say 185g is a healthy weight for her

Re: Overweight Syrian?
I would say no. she looks like a lovely size to me! if she's fat then I think Burglar and Badger need to go on a diet...

Good. For a minute there, I thought I had to stop spoiling her with daily treats.

Re: Overweight Syrian?
Belle has weighed more than that in the past!! She was 203g when the vet said she was "overweight" (they then sent me a letter to say that she needed an emergency vet visit as she was "obese" and this was a danger to her health!) She's been loosing weight recently due to not eating very well, but the porridge and baby food that she DOES eat is helping her maintain her weight. And since I started scatter feeding (yesterday!) I've seen and heard her digging for her food, and have actually caught her eating some of it! So hopefully she's decided that eating is more fun than being banned treats and being told off!

Re: Overweight Syrian?
I would definitely say no, like all the others, she looks very healthy, I've learned the hard way that syrian's sizes and weights vary A LOT, on the small size I have Mowgli, whose 105 grams, and on the exact opposite, I have Winnie who is 209!

Re: Overweight Syrian?
She looks fine to me seems like a good weight/size proportion. My Cupcake is slightly smaller and is also around 170g so I'd say she is a healthy weight for her size

Re: Overweight Syrian?
No, she looks great to me. Beautiful as she probably is... I have a syrian black and white hamster named Skips, and he's so fluffy and fat, you won't believe it ... so don't worry. Sometimes, though, hamsters have A LOT of fur, so it could affect his weight ... Thanks!
Happy Hamstering!
