My Hammy & Her Wheel
Well I've been having problems with Coco's (my syrian) normal wheel which is a rolly. Because of the awkward spacing in her HH so I recently bought a medium size flying saucer for her. Its been about 2 days and shes only been on it once. I'm just worried that she may not understand what to do with it. Is there anyway I can help?

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
Syrians need very big wheels.
The flying saucer needs to be the large one.
She may not be using it as its uncomfertable for her.x

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
Yes sadly she needs the big one =(
Medium one is way too small.
Rolly wheels don't look too good, have you tried a silent spinner or a wooden one? It needs to be 8inchs +?

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
I thought it may be too small, because her rolly is like the large one around 7.9inches, they really need to stop advertising it for syrians. I'll give it to my dwarf and get her a larger one.

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
Savic Rolly is 14cm. and the medium flying saucer is 6.5 inch. i also think it will be abit uncomfortable, the 14cm rolly came with bubbles peggy metro, and he was arching his back so i bought him This wheel (click) in 20cm which is 8inch in diametr. and he loves that one

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
If your wheel is the Jumbo rolly at 8inches this should be big enough for her.
I have always found that Syrians don't seem to know how to work flying saucers for some reason!

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
As others have said, the only Flying Saucer suitable for Syrians is the large, 12inch one. My Syrian has one and loves it I think they're great wheels - really silent and fit perfectly under the pink HH shelf.

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
I also have the Wonderland wheel. Its the best I've used. Dusty's fur is long and he's a big lad. There's nowhere for his fur to catch and he has room to run. Its excellently made and well worth the money. Its completely silent as well. The only problem I have is that Dusty's very destructive even with lots of things to nibble. His wheel is a prime target so if you do get one check it every week and sand any problem areas with fine sandpaper. Dusty's lasted for twelve months. I bought the same one again as its so good.

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
Coco had no trouble with her original large rolly because she isnt that big, but because of the small spacing in the cage it doesnt have enough room to spin for a long time without getting caught on things so thats why I decided to change. I'm definitely going to order a giant flying saucer from ebay (cant get it in the P@H near me) soon.

Re: My Hammy & Her Wheel
I got the 12" flying saucer and my syrian has used it a bit, he never used his wheel at all before so i think it is worth it, however it does take up a lot of the cage!
