Default I want a Syrian...

... officially on the look-out!

Would a Zoozone 2 be ok without the bars meshed? I had Beau and Joe (dwarfies) in it unmeshed and just made sure that there was nothing too high for them to climb on.
I have my mice in a Zoozone 2 and meshed the lid cos I know how high they can jump! however, the mesh makes it more of a pain to open and close & I'd want easy access for loads of handling etc.
so, anyone know how high a Syrian can jump!?

Lol I have only ever seen a syrian jump down not up, but I would probably mesh it to be on the safe side since wheels are quite high and if you have high-ish toys they might be able to get out

I don't ever remember my previous Syrians jumping up either
The thing is, if I did mesh it, it'd be harder to open and close...

this is my mouse's cage meshed:
secured with wire

taped around to protect my fingers!

as you can see here, I have nothing high in there

Although I do now have 2 silent spinners in there... can they climb on top of wheels?

Anyway, it does make the lid more difficult to open...

Mine all seem to be able to get on top of the wheels :S

Quite a lot of people mesh the zoozones over, maybe they have trouble opening and closing too? That's one for thought. What about a lower grade mesh that might be thinner?

Faye when I was looking for a Syrian home I narrowed it down to the ZZ2 or the Rex, they were both in the same shop, so I could put then together to measure them. The ZZ was a wee bit higher but not really enough to be much of a bonus and it was pricier too. Theres no extras, (dish, shelf, house etc) with the ZZ and no need to wire the Rex, so I opted for the Rex.

I'm really really pleased with it, and now Luna has one of Julies' (Holly) fab Wodent Wheels, its perfect. If you can go and see some I would, it definatley helped to make my up.

Look forward to seeing your future addition.

I think I'll be putting an order in with Julie too!
I already have the Zoozone 2, I picked one up at a car boot sale for £15 and another off ebay for under £10 (plus it was local, so no postage!)
They both scrubbed up well, so I'm well pleased!
The rex does look great though, and if I was buying from scratch, I'd have gotten one!
