As promised (though a little late) here's an update on our boys Mars and Button. Both are incredibly laid-back, much more so than our girls and I think the difference between male and female temperaments generally is illustrated in our litter. Both boys will lay on their backs on both mine and Will's hands! We still have them together (we've seen no sign of fighting or even mild irritation with each other) but will separate them this week as they will be 10 weeks old on Friday.

Those of you with eagle-eyes will have spotted a new name in the title - yes, we came back from Kingswinford with a new guy yesterday
His name is Toby (Toblerone) and he is an eight week old LH mink from Bourne Valley. We fell in love with him the instant we saw him, he's such a lovely unusual looking colour and, for an eight week old, he's pretty big (152 g) with an already impressive coat and a nice, squashy face. He's obviously extremely well handled as he's totally unfazed by us already and happily sits on our hands already. After discussing him with Pete Logsdail (hark at me name dropping :P ) I felt he'd fit very well in our current lot and we'd already cuddled him by then and were lost! (Bunsey went home with his sable brother).
So, without further ado, meet Toblereone:
This one is a bit dark but is rather cute so I'll post it:
Oh Holly, they are all rather gorgeous boys! Mars and Button's skirts are shaping up nicely aren't they, and they sound as though they have lovely temperaments.
Now as for little Toby - I am so jealous! He is a stunner, and you know I do love minks although my Spud and Chip are short haired. I just love the way the colour develops over time, but at whatever stage is a lovely colour (if you know what I mean). He is of course a good colour, compatible with your cream and sable lines, to increase your future breeding options.
He looks a really big boy too (like his brother Oscar who I saw Bunsey posting about).
They've all really captured my heart in those photos. 3 glorious boys indeed
Lovely photos Holly. Your boys are really growing up now, they look really lovely in those photos. Can't wait to meet them one day.
Love Toby - what a gorgeous colour! Lucky you.
Great pics. Napoleon says 'hi' to his bros and looks like they have all massively outgrown him.
To be honest I can't believe how Button has grown - perhaps something to do with "running on" with Mars for so long? Mars is still our heaviest (bigger than all our girls) but there's not a lot in it between the two anymore. It's sometimes difficult to tell them apart now so the sooner we separate them the better!
I now realise how difficult it is to tell how a baby hamster will develop - Smartie and Button were the "runts" but they aren't the smallest now
Location: Yorkshire, UK but my heart lies in Scotland!

You can't really tell how they will grow on. I think Napoleon stopped for quite a while after his toe problem and separation from his bros. He may just never be that big. We don't mind as we love him as he is. Red was the 'runt' and she turned out biggest of the whole litter!
Well my babes are all 9 weeks old now and we've had a big weigh-in tonight....and I'm utterly gobsmacked but Button has put on 38g in 12 days and now weighs the same as Mars - 155g - making those two the heaviest in the litter
Kitty weighs 149g, Smartie (the other "runt") weighs 140g ( ) and Milly's now the lightest at 135g. Out of the five babies we kept only Milly and Smartie weigh less at 9 weeks than Rolo at 4 months - he's only 148g.
Minnie is now 158g at 10 weeks (her growth seems to have slowed a bit now) and Toby is a rather large 152g at 8 weeks.
