The "others" are different species, not breed
And it doesn't actually make a difference, it all depends on the hamster. Any hamster can get territorial about its cage, it's not just Syrians. Pompompoms had a Roborovski that, by all accounts, was a right bugger
Also... why are you moving the cage up and down the stairs?? Hamsters are usually more active at night, but it depends on the hamster a bit, mine is often out at about ten in the morning as well
