Default Opinion about my sick cat?

I know this is a hamster forum, but I need someone’s second opinion.

Starting yesterday, my seemingly happy 2 year old cat started throwing up bile (stomach acid). He threw up about 3 times yesterday and had little appetite. His vomit did not contain any kibble so I think that his stomach is/was empty. As far as I know, Orion has not thrown up today and he was running around a little bit. He looks a little depressed, like he might be hurting. It is hard to tell if he is using the litter box, because I have another 2 year old cat.

Here is the catch... Orion has cat pica. If he can swallow something, he will eat it! I am very scared that he may have an intestinal infection/blockage and that he needs medical care. If anyone has any ideas, please comment! It breaks my heart when my baby is in pain.

when we dog sat a while ago, the dog wouldn't eat for the first day and a bit, threw up stomach bile, like you described. she wasn't eating. when she staretd eating it stopped. you say it might be an intestinal blockage? im not that knowledgeable but i would assume if his stomach was blocked or something he wouldn't want to eat? hence the empty stomach puke. sorry if that wasn't much help!

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to get him to eat as much as possible. I guess that I will have to keep an eye on him.

I'm not a cat expert - even though I do have two cats - but I think if you can, you should probably go to a vet.

When last did you deworm your cat? Our younger cat did exactly the same thing and it was worm related. This came as a shock to us as our cats are treated like royalty and are indoor cats and he still got worms. Please take your cat to the vet because we didn’t, it seemed to pass but a week later or so our cat nearly died and got dysentery and passed it onto our other cat. If it’s bile he is throwing up then it’s best you take him to the vet as soon as you can. Either way I’d say a vet visit would be in order. Please let us know how your cat is doing. Precious poppet!

Oh wow! That’s.... not good. He is fine now, but I suppose I should make sure to see if he has been checked lately and if we have medication. He hasn’t thrown up in a few days, but I am unsure if he is still sick or not. Thanks for the reply!

Our cat did that too...getting your cat dewormed will do him good even if it isn’t worms. Be safe than sorry.
