Default Gerbil Needs?

I might plan on getting a Gerbil and I would like to know what are the requirements of a Gerbil? I know for sure they require deep bedding than Hamsters but anything else? Cage size, food, hideouts and somethings to stay away from?

Will Hamster Food work for Gerbils?

So I apparently asked for the two package deal to a certain seller, and it came with the Gerbil.

You shouldn't just get one gerbil, they're social so you need a same sex pair or group, they shouldn't live alone.
You can buy mixes specifically for gerbils so I would stick with a good gerbil mix rather than feeding hamster food.
They do need lots of substrate so they can dig & tunnel & they chew like crazy so lots of things to chew!
I don't have experience of keeping them myself but I think quite a few members here do so someone else will probably be able to give more in depth advise.

The Gerbil I'm getting was just listed as Gerbil so I have no idea how many Gerbils I'll get once I get it. I'll try and get another Gerbil once I receive it.

How about for wheels? Do they need Wooden Wheels more than normal wheels?

I may be wrong but I believe introducing gerbils can be quite tricky sometimes so it's usually best to get a pair or group that are already together.
I wouldn't take on the offer of a gerbil or gerbils without doing lots of research first, if you can't get enough info here have a look at some gerbil forums.
I'm not sure about wheels, I think they'd probably chew both so do some research on the best & safest wheels for them.

Hmm, I might try and foster the Gerbil(s) instead since having 0 research on them are bad for me.

If you want to do some research this site is a good place to begin, there's a drop down menu for the different things you need to know.

Hi, I have two gerbils as well as my Syrian hamster.

You definitely should have more than one gerbil, and even numbers are better than odd. gerbils are better kept in glass tanks. for some reason i don't understand the recommended space for two gerbils tends to be less than whats recommended for a hamster but nothing smaller than a 20g long tank for 2 gerbils in my opinion.

lots of substrate, like 8-10inches and lots of stuff to chew. toilet roll tubes are a favorite with my girls and don't last long. A wheel is optional as some won't even use it. mine have a 28cm trixie plastic wheel, which they love, and don't chew it at all but i don't put anything else plastic in the tank as they chew everything normally.

they're a lot of fun with huge personalities but quite fast and i haven't yet been able to pick them up like others do, but i can put my hand in the tank and they'll run over it. they've never been at all inclined to bite, although i got a little 'what are you' sort of nibble once.

It is possible to introduce gerbils using a split cage, but this works better with introducing a young pair of males to an older one. Girls can be quite territorial.

They really are lovely but since they live from 2 - 4 years and require different things from a hamster i definitely wouldn't get one just because they came with something.

UPDATE!
It seems the seller was only selling the cage, thanks for all the help, I'll keep this knowledge for future Gerbils, once I do enough research

If you need a good gerbil care video, you can go to the YT Channel 'Happy Tails' or search on YT 'Happy Tails Gerbil Care' and it should pop up. hope this helps.
