Default Introducing our newest family members

Please welcome Bubbles and Gizmo!

IMG_0425.JPG

They are sisters from a Cats Protection rehoming centre, and are 8 years old. I think they were getting overlooked because of their age, but they are in excellent health and are perfect for us as are already really chilled out and just love to curl up on your lap and go to sleep

We are new to cat ownership so are learning as we're going, but they've only been here a week and already feel like part of the family- it's so fun getting to know their little quirks

Any advice welcome

(I doubt they'd be bothered with the hamsters, but the cages are on high up shelves and the door to the hamster room is always shut while the cats are out )

Aww, congrats on adopting Bubbles and Gizmo; I'm sure they are as happy as can be living with you. They are ABSOLUTELY stunning; their coloring is gorgeous and their eyes are totally mesmerizing! I love their adorable names; they make me smile. It is so nice that they are pleased to curl up on your lap for a nice and cozy snooze. All of your photos of these precious sisters are truly amazing, too! I look forward to keeping up with your updates on this thread.

Gorgeous girlies! Well done you for taking them in. Our cats are 8 now too! They're just as hyper when they are active as when they were younger just in much shorter bursts!
The longer I've owned both cats & hamsters, the more I realise they're actually pretty similar personality wise. Think it's why I love them both. A little bit aloof, definitely your friend when you've got food & they'll decide when they want to play with you or be affectionate. Basically, teenagers in furry form

Thank you

That's very true Velma about them being quite similar, although I'd never get my hamsters to stay still for hours on end like these two

How lovely your two are. Gizmo could be my newest rescue kitties twin except for the fact Trinity will soon be a mother. She was hanging around our Ministry cold hungry, and starving trying to suckle 4 very feral kittens. We tried traps and feeding her about 7 week old kittens in hopes we could catch them before they were past that age they might have been tamed but only Trinity would come up for pets and food. One by one her kittens disappeared and while we had a rummage sale going on she chose me. Sitting on my lap and purring up a storm. We will be having her spayed once her coming litter is weaned. Being a mouser we don't allow her out of the cat room unless I am there with spray bottle in hand to show her The Hamsters are out of bounds and if you even walk near them you will get a squirt of water in your path. She has responded quickly to this and already steers clear of the area the Hamsters are located.

Beautiful cats!
I work in a cat rescue centre and its lovely to see that you have adopted some slightly older cats-they always seem to get overlooked!
Glad they have settled in well!
