Stick insects

Anyone selling a terrain suitable for stick insects or praying mantis in South Wales?

I don't live there so I'm obviously no help, but I saw "stick insects" and just had to look! They're such intriguing creatures, illegal here unfortunately

Bellatrix, I also don't live anywhere near you so I also unfortunately can't be of any help. I saw your thread and was intrigued since I absolutely love these creatures. I do believe that Stick Insects and Northern Walkingsticks are the same creature, correct? Amazingly, I was leaving my house one day and had the greatest surprise when a Northern Walkingstick was crawling slowly on the brick exterior of my home. He was so well camouflaged that I almost missed seeing him. I couldn't believe it and was truly delighted to see one up close. They are so, SO interesting and truly amazing!!!! You are so very lucky to have had them as a child. If you do end up getting some as a pet now, I would truly love to see pics and hear more about them. They are so very rare to come across where I live that it was a miracle that one came to my house for a visit.

I'll definitely post some photos if I get some. They're very low maintenance and easy to keep, plus they get used to being handled and will willing walk onto your hand.

I kept them as a kid too, they are strange little things & cool to watch!
Not sure what you mean by a terrain for them though?

I think maybe they mean terrarium?
Bellatrix any items of sale or wanted must go through the Marketplace and be posted in the required manner.
We always used a lidded fish tank for our stick insects. Main issue we had was that they breed like crazy and you end up with thousands!

I did wonder about a terrarium & I remember population explosions being a bit of a problem too!

Ooh, stick bugs! They're such intriguing creatures. I've not heard of anybody keeping them as pets though, maybe because I live in the US and I think we're not allowed to keep them.

If you end up getting some I'd love to hear about them/see pictures.

We had some stick insects when I was little. They bred like mad! I'm not sure what happened to them in the end...
I think we just kept them in a fish tank. We used this sponge type stuff to secure privet hedge twigs which served as habitat and food.
I don't know if that's the best way to do it, was too young to think about it. There may be other advice online? Enjoy your stick insects!
