I used to have stickies. I got their stuff and them themselves from Small Life Supplies online. I used to have the pink winged type which multiplied very satisfactorily, and were pretty too. However their wings snagged on bramble prickles so unless you have the Giant Thornless blackberry feed them something else. I also had a pair of New Guinea stick insects.
They were called Brian and Joanne and their carapace are so hard that when they died and we asked our friend to stuff them he just soaked the dead Brian in vinegar and mounted him in a little Perspex box, which my grown up son still treasures 20 years later. Joanne, being female was more impressive than Brian but sadly after her demise, I left her on the bookcase and she fell on the floor where she was discovered by an escaped hamster who ate half of her. Sad but true

Some eat privet or ivy. I had some privet growing in the garden, just to feed my stick insects. They breed so much. You may have to freeze the unwanted eggs to stop them hatching, if you don't want lots of them.
