Re: My African grey (Congo) parrots
I had a shock this morning. Jack was out eating and Joe came out to say hello and have her neck feathers preened by me. I had a quick check on the chicks and they were both far apart, laying on their backs and not moving. I thought they had died.
Joe asked for some apple, so I went to get some. She had gone back to the chicks, but came back out of the nest box to eat some of the apple. I checked the chicks and they are back together and aren't on their backs. Such a relief.

Re: My African grey (Congo) parrots
Oh, what a relief! My eyes started welling up with tears as I read the beginning of your post, CMB. I'm so totally relieved that both chicks are fine. I know that it must have been a terrible scare for you. Thank goodness all is fine. What an emotional roller coaster!

Re: My African grey (Congo) parrots
Sad news. I can only see one chick. The other has likely died.

Oh no, I'm so sorry these things do happen, but it's very sad. I hope the remaining chick is well.

Re: My African grey (Congo) parrots
Lovely to hear about the chicks hatching and so sorry one of them may have died. Fingers crossed that isn't the case.
