I am so glad you rescued them! Well done. I once stumbled across a horrible video on YouTube of a hamster being fed to a snake when I was little, and it's never left me...

Looking forward to pictures of baby mice

That's so horrid feeding live mice to snakes.
My friend had snakes while back and she would buy frozen mice and I nearly keeled over when she dangled it in front the snake and it grabbing it. Urgh!
She then jokingly said they would also enjoy a hamster, I wasn't laughing.

I'm so very pleased to hear that have managed to save some mice from becoming live snake food. I find the thought of a live mouse being fed to a snake horrible and disgusting - I understand in nature snakes do eat live mice but in captivity I think its cruel as these mice are defenceless and are without any means of a possible escape. So these mice are very, very lucky that you managed to save them and are able to show them what a loving and caring home is!
I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of your new additions.

It's wonderful that you were there to rescue some mice from a horrific fate of being eaten alive. I hope your new additions settle in well, the pregnancy/deliver goes smoothly, and the mother mouse and all of her future mice pups are all healthy. I look forward to updates and pics whenever you have a chance.

Updates on the mice!

Since I last updated this thread, I've unfortunately lost two of my little guys. Rinn and Fluffy. I'm still unsure of what caused Fluffy's passing as I found him at the bottom of his cage. Perhaps he was too young to have gone home? Either way, I hope he enjoyed his short stay with me. Rinn suffered from Tyzzer's before I had him put down. He was having seizures and was very dehydrated, it was cruel to keep him alive.

Luckily, since then, no mice have had any issues. I now have only 6 mice, but empty tank syndrome is beginning to get to me....

Here are some pics of the little ones!

Really sorry to hear about Rinn & Fluffly Drago, so sad to lose them but I'm sure their time with you was a happy time for them.

Good to hear the others are doing well, love the first & last photos especially, those ears get me every time

Introduction night

Quarantine is over for Shina, which means she's ready to join in with the trio instead of her sad lonely life in the 10 gallon. I've used the neutral territory method. Basically just throwing all of them together in the bathtub and letting them sort things out amongst one another. It's going....well it's going

*warning*
This video may upset some people

Here's a video of how they progressed (no mice were harmed, they're incredibly loud and dramatic, but it does go to show why you need to be careful!)

(Bare with me if it didn't work)

Mishka wasn't hurt by Shina, but she was shaken and upset. Mice are going to fight, and it's normal for it to be horrible sounding. Remember that when separating any fighting rodents, NEVER use your hands. I seperated them as I didn't like where it was going. However, as I write this, all of them are eating oats and grooming one another More updates to come!

Oh no so sorry to hear about Rinn and Fluffy, even if their time with you was short they had a great home with you and were well loved.

Their squabbles sounded more dramatic than it looked but I'm pleased that they seem to have settled a bit with each other and I hope it continues to go well for them

My condolences for Rinn & Fluffy.
Gorgeous pics of your five fluffs.
Yikes, that was a loud squabble, glad they've settled down. You were fast in responding to it.
