Re: My Ratties!!
Just catching up on your adorable ratties thread. I'm so glad that the trio are all doing alright now. They are so, SO cute and I love how they are all so very different in personality. They are all so special in their own, very unique way. I love all of their pictures especially with each of them in the hammock. How wonderful that they are all becoming more tame, too. Hopefully, Monty will become less skittish with you and your dad's girlfriend soon. It is good that he is extremely tame with your dad though.

He just seems to prefer my dad aha, he still tries to nip my fingers which is weird because I always wash them before handling them. He just likes to gently nip fingers and I'm not sure why. Milo does this thing when he hears me coming up the stairs, he goes onto the lava ledge near the door to wait for me it's adorable.

Re: My Ratties!!
They really are so cute even when looking grumpy and those hammocks look so comfy and cosy.

Haha they do! As you can see there are a few rips in their green one, that's all Monty's doing he seems to like to destroy things lol

Re: My Ratties!!
Maybe these rips are a way of him being able to see what's going on around him ha-ha!

Re: My Ratties!!
Hi everyone,
I know I haven't been on here for a very long time, but alot of things have happened since I was last on here.
Leo had to have surgery over Christmas because he had a middle ear infection, which was caused by a respiratory infection. He was on meds since the summer but they were not working and he developed an abscess, from then he was put on different meds and the abscess burst, but sadly that was not the end of it.
His abscess then reoccurred after a couple of weeks so I took him back to the vets, and his vet took a sample of the pus coming from his abscess to start a culture.
Unfortunately there were no conclusive results from the culture, so the last resort was for him to into surgery to have his abscess explored.
Attached is a picture of how Leo looked a few hours after his surgery, he had to be separated from the other boys for a few days so hence why he was in a small cage. I was told by the vet that his abscess was caused by a middle ear infection, that was caused by a respiratory infection so hence why it kept reoccurring.
Leo no longer has any hearing in the ear that was infected, however he is still the sweet and happy rattie that I know! He has had no more health problems and he's enjoying life again with his brothers in his brand new cage!
I will post more pictures of him and his brothers in a further post.

Re: My Ratties!!
Now onto a happier post
I recently moved the boys into a Savic Royal Suite 95, and they've been having alot more fun in their much bigger cage and they have new toys and hammocks to play with and explore!
Here are some pictures of the boys recently!

Re: My Ratties!!
It’s so lovely to see you back on the forum.
Sorry to hear Leo has been having health issues - poor thing - I hope he will start to feel better and his abscess, ear infections and respiratory infections will not cause him any more issues. Give him a cuddle and kiss from me.
All your ratties are still so cute - it lovely to hear they have had a cage upgrade I hope they are enjoying all the additional space.

He is alot better now, and it's so lovely to see you again!
Leo has had endless kisses and cuddles since his surgery and he was a little bit extra spoilt on Christmas aha! I got them their new cage in mid November so they've had it for a few months now and they love it!
I attached a picture of their set up and Milo being all cute when he came out for play time this evening.

Re: My Ratties!!
Pleased that Leo is a lot better now - he deserved to be extra spoilt on Christmas after everything he had been through.
Your ratties cage layout looks really good and it great to hear that they love it as it looks like they have lots of fun toys to keep them amused.
Milo looks so sweet!
