A free roaming bun would be a disaster for me,unless I had two spare rooms(not possible)since one would have to go to the ferret Free roaming in my bedroom isn't possible either, due to cords and such.I will have a playpen to section off at least part of it though, forgot to mention that but I was already planning on doing so.At first I was thinking about either getting a large storebought cage only a few inches below the US minimum for one bun with a playpen around it but keeping the door of the cage open all the time, but then the grids were purchased and are much cheaper anyways. They usually have single buns in one of the local shelters, which could be an option(still not a fan of the local shelters, but if I feel good enough about the bun going to see it I could probably just deal with it).

My 15 pound dog thinks he's huge Honestly despite being so small his jaw strength is crazy, pretty much the same as a pit but he's way smaller. He's all muscle too, pretty much no fat to him.His brother is very different though, but that's the difference of a good diet and proper excersize from a young age I guess.

I've been around chihuahuas with great personalities and chihuahuas with terrible personalities, but at the end of the day I don't think they're any worse than other breeds.Their small size means they shouldn't eat a ton of food, certainly less than a large breed dog for example a great dane or rottweiler or pit!For me this isn't all about the money that would get spent(even though I won't complain about spending less money),but more the extra room in budget for providing more variety of foods and allowing for a great rotational diet(including a variety of high quality kibbles, freeze dried raw,and other things).Of course, some high quality brands only do large bags of dog kibble,so that is a bit annoying in this case although great for owners with several dogs or larger dogs!

Do you still have your hamster, Bambi?

Bambi is still with me,causing as much chaos as ever! She is a bit upset with me right now, between being temporarily in the 20 long(as the bin is not escape proof just yet,but even that doesn't make her royal highness happy nor did I expect it would due to being quite tiny for a Syrian)and not having her "mandatory" daily food.I feed her every other day usually, though.

I'll probably just connect the bins I have currently together after sterilizing them both, and add on a new one(roughly 80 cm x 50 cm for two,one being 60 cm x 40 cm,so all together around a square meter).I'll be able to reuse them all anyways,so that could mean a second Syrian(or a hybrid given a very spacious home).Going to have to figure out a way to keep the smallest elevated in between though,so it will connect directly without a gap between. It does add a bit extra to the zoo,but honestly the only extra cost is going to be substrate and toys with the second Syrian so it isn't a problem at all I've been wanting more hams for a while anyways!

Before I can make the bin system I have a lot of organizing and sterilizing to do anyways,so it's going to take a bit of time.I won't sterilize the tank just yet though,so I can keep Bambi in the larger bin until I can get the extra bin and then connect everything together but keep her safe in the tank while I do that.I'll need to stock up on substrate first too, along with lots of extra toys and hideouts(along with making quite a few myself).

That sounds good to upgrade her to a bin as a 20 gal is quite small for a Syrian I'm sure you know. Don't overthink this,

She was in the bin previously before several escapes happen.I've known a 20 long is small for a Syrian for a very long time, and even the single bin is clearly not appropriate for most Syrians(given experiences from others having hamsters exhibit clear signs of boredom and such in cages of the same or similar size, along with my own experience),so the bin will still be a temporary fix at best.

That was the plan and is still going to happen.I just don't want to move the design I have in mind, because it will be so awkward in size(over a square meter in floor space).Once I move I'm still making it though, which Bambi will love as I will be able to have way more substrate in the DIY cage than a bin cage!

It shouldn't be too much more to add another hamster to the family once the DIY is made for Bambi anyways, especially if I order one part of the combination of foods I use online(I'd need to do regular orders anyways for dog, cat, and ferret food).Just a little extra work I guess, and the initial investment of a few extra supplies.

I definitely think that you should follow your heart when deciding which of these wonderful animals are right for you and your other pets. I believe that whichever route you decide to go with, you will make a wonderful parent for any of them and they will be very lucky for you to love and care for them.

I have a female guinea pig, and she is a true blessing to me and my life. Guinea pigs make absolutely terrific pets. Mine has SO much personality. She is such a loving girl. She loves to play for hours no matter the time of the day or night. She loves to snuggle with me and is extremely attentive and interactive. She is everything that I could have wanted in a furry friend and much, much more. She is also very easy to care for and not TOO much more expensive than having a hamster. They do, however, take much more space and their food is slightly more expensive. However, they have a much longer lifespan which is wonderful since you absolutely fall head-over-heals in love with them and so the more time the better. I wish that hamsters lived longer.

My sister had a bunny, and he was a splendid pet as well. He lived for several years, too. He loved to play around and also enjoyed being walked around her garden. Whenever I babysat him, he was truly a joy to take care of and pamper.

My friend had a ferret, and he was a true trickster. He would get into plenty of mischief whenever possible and absolutely loved stealing anything that he could. Although many believe that they have a tendency to be nippy, I did not have that experience with my friend's ferret. I suppose that it is just like any type of animal; it depends on early training and the specific temperament of the individuals involved. If you decide to get a ferret, you should realize that they are like a 3-year old child in their mentality (which they never outgrow). They also need tons of time to truly care for their needs so they won't get into extra mischief than typical. They also need an extremely large cage with a hammock-type bed for their comfort. They make an excellent pet.

I have never owned a cat since I am allergic to them. I have had dogs before, and I absolutely love German shepherds, terriers of all types, border collies, and spaniels (particularly English springer spaniels, cocker spaniels, and King Charles spaniels).

I also had a sun conyer parrot for several years and absolutely adored him. They make amazing pets, but they are EXTREMELY loud at times and quite expensive in the beginning. I TOTALLY love parrots. Mine learned how to say "Love you!", played extensive brainteaser games and puzzles, and loved to fly to me and cuddle.

Good luck with your future choice of pet. I am sure that any one that you choose will be perfect for you since you are definitely not rushing into anything and appear to thoroughly be getting important info. on all your possibilities. Have fun dreaming about your next special pal. I would LOVE to know how things are going. Enjoy the journey!

If she would ever sit still I'd love to!

I recently got to try an even better quality food with the cats(Wellness Core,Original formula)which they really do seem to love!Luckily it is also fine for ferrets(some might say peas aren't okay for ferrets, but that is widely debated and since they aren't extremely high in what is responsible for causing stones it is up to the individual to decide whether or not to use a food including or not including them but as for me I will use a variety of different foods, some with some without, but all in rotation along with a mixture of different food types),so if I do manage to buy it in bulk(if possible)it would be a very useful food that everyone should eat!The only downside is that it does have some fish derived protein so it is a bit smellier than something that is just poultry, beef, etc derived. However it isn't that bad and I find it surprising at first but tolerable!

I also tried a different brand than Pure Bites for freeze dried chicken, since it was cheaper, but just as good quality if not so far preferable! It seems like there's less shredded at the bottom but I won't know until I use a lot more, though so far everyone has liked it just fine. The brand is Simply Nourish, for those in the US who can get it,and it is around $4-just under $5 in Petsmart compared to Pure Bites which were a lot more there.Of course, you can find deals on Pure Bites when you look around, but if you can only get into one store at a certain time and need your freeze dried chicken these are good too!
