That can be a problem with lots of standard wire cages Unfortunately, there aren't really many cages that do have easy to open doors, especially with standard wire cages. If you could get the money back and you wanted a different cage you could definitely find one,but it wouldn't be too easy and Zooplus do not have any in that price range with easy opening doors. There was the Savic Royal Suite, but that is almost twice as expensive with the unnecessary option of turning it into two separate cages.

Little Friends Double Metal Rat Chinchilla Ferret Cage on Stand - Little Pet Warehouse
Little Friends Triple Metal Rat Chinchilla Ferret Cage on Stand - Little Pet Warehouse
Metal Aventura HUGE Metal Rat Ferret Chinchilla Cage - Little Pet Warehouse
Metal Rockford Double Rat Ferret Chinchilla Cage - Little Pet Warehouse

The last two are a bit pricier than you'd probably like, but all have potential if set up to be rat appropriate with removal of mesh floors and ladders and such and setting up with loads of toys, platforms, climbing branches, etc It may not be the most stress free solution if you do choose to change cages, but since the doors may be easier to open it is good to keep an open mind and see if it may be better!

Somehow forgot this one as well, but yet another potential option!

Well its kinda too late now, me and my dad esembled the cage together and he has suggested instead of closing the door fully just tie it up with cable ties and undo it when I need to open the cage

Set up the cage a bit! It all arrived the same day so instead of leaving it lying around I would set it up in the cage! I have figured out how to open the cage easily in a way that I feel wouldn't startle them when I get them. But here's everything until the rest of their order comes and of course themselves!

The chains aren't safe The cotton rope isn't either. You could probably remove the chains and hang the tube with a safe rope instead though, like jute or sisal or hemp.If not,you could still put it on the floor of the cage as a toy anyways!Everything else looks really nice though

I probably should have mentioned this is the last post but the sisal string is one of the last things to come, and the rope I thought would be okay as I've read so many reviews about it and how over time it doesn't really fray and it stays pretty solid. And as it's made by rosewood and my friend who's had many rats hasn't had any problem with the product that it would be fine to use. However if I do end up getting rats that love to chew, and that they show interest in chewing the rope I will remove it immediately.

I wouldn't take that risk Some cotton rope may not fray, but the problem still remains that it isn't going to be digested and would cause a blockage far too easily.

I know a lot of people do rave about cotton rope for rats and birds, but it just isn't a good idea. You'd have to have rats that never even tested it with a nibble, and the nature of the beast makes it pretty much impossible. Some risks just aren't worth taking.
