Re: Rats!!
The bucket wheels would not be large enough Even a 30.5 cm wheel would be a bit small, especially with how big rats can get.Save up for a good sized wheel instead, rather than wasting money on a wheel that will just make you spend far more in the end by being way too small for large rats.

A homemade wheel might work best. There's a tutorial on a chinchilla website on how to make a 15 inch wheel (or whatever size you choose!) out of a galvanized feed pan and a few other pieces of hardware. You can make a huge and super comfortable wheel for your rats for less than $20 (around the same amount of currency that you use)
Here's a link to a tutorial

It says it's not advised if they are in the same room, my rats will be living in the same room as me. Thank you though for the idea

Re: Rats!!
You could probably take the idea of using a roller blade wheel from Carolina Storm wheels and make it more quiet.

Re: Rats!!
Just reserved a coupleof boys with a breeder! Been emailing her and she's planning on breeding a buck and doe this weekend, if all goes well they will be ready early April and she gave me advice on the Zeno cage I was going to get as she had one before, she said they're quite flimsy and she recommended a ferplast furat to me instead.

That would be a wonderful cage for adult rats! However, the bar spacing is too big for young rats at 1.5 cm

That's exciting news! I hope you'll be doing a proper introduction of your little ratties when you get them, I'm definitely excited

She said she'll email me to confirm the pregnancy and when they are born, and she provides an aftercare service if any advice is needed.
