Anyone have chinese fire belly newts?
I`ve been looking into these little critters as a possible new pet/hobby at some stage (not right now though). I had previously looked at keeping fish but that notion went awol given the water parameters and fluctuations they need and even cold water fish can require special needs.
So I then looked into red cherry shrimp, but wasn`t sure about those. The Chinese fire belly newt seems to be a nice choice given they need a nice sized tank, at least two feet in length and half land/half water environment and require bloodworms and insect larvae in their diet. So this would all be a new venture for me if I did take the plunge, although I admit, it`s all just research just now and nothing more.
Would love some tips and images of your newts if you have any and any pitfalls in keeping them, or indeed, anything I need to know from people who have/are keeping them. Thanks guys. x

Re: Anyone have chinese fire belly newts?
I didn`t think I would get much or any replies to this! Never mind. It was something I was looking at but probably won`t do as these creatures live for up to 15 years, so my own mortality may come into question!
I may juts look at something like red cherry shrimp or a few guppies or white cloud mountain minnows at some point if I decide to keep anything aquatic. Even cold water fish still require good water parameters and care.
