Default Look who came to visit!

So, he's not a pet, and not ours although he's always in our garden! Have nicknamed him Jed! (Sorry about the bad quality photos - was zoomed far in without the flash. through the window! Would have been better if not through the window but didn't want to scare him! Darker picture - number 2 - did use the flash)

And here is a very short video of him!

Ooh he is lovely! Or she? Is it a baby deer? I'm just wondering if the parents are nearby.

He had horns so am assuming he's an adult? We think he's a munkjack (or however you spell that!) and they are quite small - actually if he is a munkjack then he looks quite big! I've never seen a brown munkjack though ... I thought they had a stripe down their backs but I could be wrong
If he is a baby then I don't know where his parents are, as we always see him but no other deer! He is in our garden about 4-5 times a week sometimes more. The other day he was loking at the cat, and they were staring at each other to see who would move first!
Also, he likes to eat some of the green plants in the garden, and the grass (yay, no need to mow it!) but am not sure a baby does that? Don't know much about deer though!

Off to google Munjack! I think you're right - their faces are a bit different. This says Muntjac

Muntjac deer

Could be in the middle of baby to adult as the horns are small - or could well be female as they have small horns! But for now am sticking with he - cos I like the name Jed LOL

Lol same here!
According to this website, the babies have spots and it looks like females don't have horns, so he must be male!

Muntjac are quite small. Look at the picture with the magpie to see the size. About the size of a cat or small dog.

I can't get over the bird hanging out with him. Pretty little deer.

I'd be cautious though. Deer ticks can spread Lyme disease.
