Goldfish!
Okay, I have cycled my 4000 litre/ 1050 gallon pond for about a month and water is PERFECT, finally. Yesterday, while buying some dog food I saw some gorgeous goldfish sooo I decided why not! I ended up only buying three, for now. Two 'orange' comet girls with white tails and one huge common 'yelloe' boy. They were sluggish and inactive yesterday, but today they are speeding around, happy out. Everything looks good, for now. Now I have to wait until the weekend, see if they survive and get some more! Soon I'll have a happy troubling.
Any tips greatly appreciated! Just hoping that my information is correct.

Re: Goldfish!
That sounds fun! I don't know anything about goldfish I'm afraid. Elliy might give you her silverfish to go in with them though Hope you didn't mind that joke Elliy

Re: Goldfish!
They require a good filtration system as the produce a lot of waste.. You can get heaters to make sure the pond doesn't freeze in winter (only set the temperature to stop freezing, not to have warm water). Some people have automatic feeders so you an feed them while you go away. They need a covered area at one end and some mesh to stop cats, herons etc taking the fish.

Re: Goldfish!
The fish are great! Settling in really well. We have the filter covered, nearly triple the size needed. I'm not going to worry about a heater just yet We have water lily's growing so they have some cover. There also is a waterfall for them to hide behind. Great to know automatic feeders are available!
