Hi

Is your guinea pig called Mars? Not sure what you mean from your first sentence, sorry!

How long have you had your guinea pigs and how old are they? They are very inquisitive and funny little creatures if given the opportunity! Tell us more about your guinea pigs Pictures are always loved on here too.

Just one thing, it seems like you only have one GP from what you are saying? They really should be kept with at least one other (I think they are best in same sex pairs or a mixed sex group - neutered obviously!) otherwise they will be very unhappy and probably not show you all the fun behaviour that they are capable of!

They are very active so needs a nice big space but also with lots of hiding spaces, a bit like hamsters really! Except they aren't agile at all and can't climb. They need access to grass or lots of hay and also vitamin C is super important in their diet as they can't make their own, so you need to feed red pepper, kale, parsley etc.

Hope that helps Sorry if some of that you already know.

A lot of the basics were already covered.

You also need to know that they need a lot of space - the absolute minimum for a pair (and as discussed before, you should really have a pair!) is 8sq.ft... but that's bare minimum, and bigger is always better! You may find that you *need* more space for a pair of males. The recommended minimum size for males is 10sq.ft.

Check out guineapigcages.com and rodentswithattitude.co.uk for more information - both of these sites also have attached forums. "Guinea Pig Talk" on FaceBook is also a great group!
