Weird. So your not having those just because your partner doesn't like it? Have you tried reasoning with him/her? I know how you feel. My parents asked me what I wanted for Xmas and I said a dwarf hamster (robo) but they said I couldn't have more than one hamster at a time

Scorpions and Tarantulas are a lot like hammies, they dont do well under stress. But they find vibrations stressful (eg from us huge humans stomping about on floorboards) and car journeys. At one point we had 15 T's and the scorp.
Due to a not very nice man we shared the house with slamming doors and stomping round like a hear of elephants a lot died. The hour car journey to our new house finished scorp off.

I always say to people who hate spiders, we get ZERO wild spiders in our house, I know where every single one is - and they are in a glass viv. Imagine it this way - is a tiny chihuahua puppy going to try to fight to the death with a Great Dane? Nope. So the wild ones stay away

That's really interesting that you don't get wild spiders. I have quite a few pot plants (orchid collection) and sometimes tiny flys like to go on them so actually welcome a few spiders.

And yeah My partner has a fear of anything with more than 4 legs. He really wasn't happy about my insects so would definitely not be happy about a spider lol

We do have one resident wild spider in the laundry room, but thats sort of open plan/loosly seperated from the garden. oh and one on my wing mirror on my car LOL. Do they count as pets? They have been around for about 9months.

I think they do. My mums boyfriend had one in his laundry room. He fed her dead flys he found and a drop of his home brew wine. He found another house spider and thought she would like a friend so put it next to her but after that she ran off and now he doesn't have a pet spider. He was so sad! lol

She waited patiently for my mums boyfriend to drop her stuff. Scurried out, drank her wine and took flies back to her nest. Didn't believe how tame she was until I met her lol
