Default Cats in BIIIIIIG trouble!

The terrible cat trio have been up to no good. Yin, (the black one), has started sitting on top of the glider cover...the canopy part. Since it isn't made for fat cat bodies, of course it slanted and he probably went flying. But he still did it again and again. I woke up and found that the cover was totally torn up and hanging in tatters from the glider. The canopy has been slashed in a few spots too...probably where the little wretch tried to hang on when the top slanted. Sigh. :- I removed what was left of the cover and straightened the little greenhouse that also stays under the cover. I keep all my gardening supplies in it. They got into my potting soil and the perlite I use for cactus plants, and knocked over some pots. Not really a problem, but using an individual cover on the greenhouse is probably best. The cats don't know they are being bad. I ordered a new glider cover, but it won't be here until the 17th. So, I put the original greenhouse cover on the greenhouse and the glider will just have to wait. The cats better find a place if it rains because their little cave is out of action for now. It's been a very hot summer and not a whole lot of rain, so who knows? It just might stay dry until the cover comes.
The feline crew also broke the rain gutter that runs from the roof to the top of the fence and then along the fence to the very back of the yard. It's the spot where they insist on jumping from the yard next door to the top of my barbecue grill. They are pretty hefty cats now and their weight just popped the gutter. So I have it tied back up, but in three places. It was actually easy to do! I would have the feline version of the 3 Stooges!

If there is any way to attach a few good size pieces of aluminum Foil to the top of the glider it will keep them off. Not sure why but cats absolutely hate the feel of Aluminum foil on their paws. This has kept my two off the top of hamster bins, out of my big huge flower pot with my Geranium plant, and out of my flower bed outside on my deck.

I love this idea Nancy! I think I'll try clipping a couple of sheets on the top of the canopy. We'll see how it goes.
