Re: Harold the Hedgehog
I was pleased to see that Harold's food bowl was mostly empty this morning. Rogue and I went out and found the smallest neighbourhood cat trying (and failing) to get the dregs of the food, until the hedgehog house guardian (aka Rogue) scared him off.

Re: Harold the Hedgehog
Nice, Hedgie has a guardian! I think I originally attracted hedgies unintentionally with cat food when I was feeding feral cats (now all tamed and spayed). Since they like cat food I am not surprised cats like hedgie food.

Re: Harold the Hedgehog
It`s good that the hole wasn`t large enough for the cat to sneak in. That`s the downside of feeding wildlife, cats tend to come in and either take the food or kill the wildlife. Thankfully they can`t kill a hedgehog. x

Re: Harold the Hedgehog
ahw, prickly hog
Must have been very hungry too, if he was showing himself, knowing there were people around! Not that big either in my opinion so probably from this year ut of an early litter (they can come out of hibernation already at the end of januari sometimes) or last year from a late litter

Re: Harold the Hedgehog
How cute! It's amazing how they evolved such a great protection.
I was just reading about the night sky fireworks in the news. In order for me to see them I'll need to get up at 4:00 a.m. according to the article. I'll try.

Re: Harold the Hedgehog
Just spotted this baby hedgehog as big as my hand in my garden out before dark. Not a good sign. Refused my mealworm offering I scattered in its path though :-/
