Default Anybody else own fish???

So, as you can probably tell by the profile pic, I am a absolute fish lover. I own 21 of my own! I made this thread, so if anybody has fish, to say the name and species. For example:

Felix, Peppered Cory

If anyone doesn't know what species of fish they have, try to post a picture of them and I'll most likely be able to tell you. Anyways, I thoughts I would also do a list of my tanks and fish, others are also welcome to! Well, here goes nothing!

First Tank: 37 gallon Top Fin glass aquarium (sold at PetSmart)
Fish:

- 7 Black Skirt Tetras, all 3 years old, 4 males and 3 females
- 5 Zebra Danios, all 1 year old, 2 males and 3 females
- 5 Rummynose Tetras, all 3/4 of a year old, 3 males and 2 females
- 2 Peppered Corys, both 1 year old, both males, brothers
- 1 Julii Cory, 1 year old, female

Second tank: 40 gallon breeder Aqueon Glass Aquarium (also sold at PetSmart)
Fish:

- 1 Shubunkin Goldfish, 1 1/2 years old, male

That is all for me!

Cool Cangshu! Shubunki, my goldfish, actually came from a pond! If you want to read the whole story, you can read on my blog:

Shubunki's Rescue Story | Leah Tift

P.S. The article is a little old and I have him in a 40 gallon, witch is the minimum size for single tail goldfish. The 10 gallon was just temporary and would never be used log term. Also, the Hamster part of my website is a little old and i have not worked on it for awhile. You are welcome to add info!

We have a betta fish, who unfortunately isn't doing well at the moment. Trying to diagnose and treat him as I type!

I have a 300 litre (or 80gal American) float glass tank and have 5 beautiful crazy Goldfish:

Chu - Gold male Ranchu
Munch - Calico female Lionhead
Scooter - Orange male Oranda
Scrunchie - Blue male Oranda
Gargie - unknown gender Fantail mix

Gargie is just 5 months and is currently in a little acyrilic tank until he gets big enough to join the big boys in the main tank . The rest are all around 2 to 2 and a half years old. I recently lost my two girls Nessie and Bubbles so I'm a bit sad not being able to include them in my list.

I have 6 betta fish! Each has its own tank of course One of them was a rescue. He'd had his fins ripped off by another betta and then been abandoned in a house in a tiny bowl in water so green with algae the betta was nearly invisible His fins grew back though and he's turned out to be a gorgeous Double Tail!

Unfortunately all of my finkids are currently staying in small travel containers while I get their (and my) houses set up. Moving. Blegh.

*Enh98: What are your betta's symptoms?

Thanks for responding everybody!

RubyDG,
I don't want to be mean, but your tank is a little too small. Ideally all of these fish would be kept in a 120g tank. I know this might sound crazy, but it is the truth. If they are older goldfish (5+ years), the tank should be fine, but if they are young, I would recommend getting two 55 gallon tanks and splitting them up, or it can stunt their growth.

No offence taken Wanna Hamster. The recomenned space for Goldfish does vary a lot depending on where you're getting your information from. Personally I go off the general recommended space for Goldfish as advised by a reputable goldfish forum which was 15gal minimum when I started up my tank but is now 20gal American (which works out between 57-75 litres per fish). You do need more more space than this if you have commons though. While I'm certainly at capacity and wouldn't add more goldfish I'm within the absolute minimum I'm okay with. Gargie (the unexpected fry who is in one of my spare tanks) will be going into the main tank when he is big enough. Not ideal as that will take me over the 4 fish max limit for the tank but I can't really justify setting up a whole other tank for one fish. It does mean I have a lovely big canister filter and as well as the joy of frequent water changes . Love to get a bigger tank or split them into two seperate tanks like you suggested but unfortunatley just don't have the space anymore.
