I have them in big home made wooden terrariums of 150x60 cm (which is about 60 inches long and 23 inches deep). The grass pics are from carpet samples, i never take them outside since it's always too hot or too cold for them here :P

As food they get 3 teaspoons of cat kibble and besides that i give them cooked meat, fish, canned catfood, bugs, fruits and veggies

I'll take a picture of their homes tomorrow if i have the time!

No problem!
Yeah, we have them in our garden too, but those are Europians, not African Pygmy's :P Europians are way bigger! APH's are like half the size and half the weight, haha.

I took Archie out today, since i had to make some pictures for my APH Wiki and he's the easiest to take pictures of. He was such a doll! Which... basically is just his thing, but it keeps surprising me how easy he is compared to every hog i bought from others. He's such a clown and so lovely. He's going to be a daddy in 2-3 weeks, so if his kids are as easy and cute as him, i think i might have a problem

Oh my gosh that splosh of pink nose is adorable and I had an urge to rub his tummy! I can see the size now compared to your hand. Are Hedgehogs born like rodents-- helpless pinkies-- or are they more ready to go?

they are indeed like rodents at birth, without quilss, naked, blind and deaf I must leave the litter for two weeks before handling, unless there's a problem with mom ofc. I had the handrear two hoglets in the past litter. They died at the age of 4 weeks It's pretty hard to bottlefeed them.

I can imagine how difficult that would be. I'd say you were doing well to make 4 weeks. Possibly Mother's milk is quite specialized too and not easily replaceable. Here's hoping the next litter are healthy and happy!

I hope so too! I'm so looking forward to this litter. ofcourse, same feeling with the previous litters but this one in paticular, because my lovely clown Archie is the dad! He's just so gorgeous!

Hazel, the mom, is a cutie too btw! Well, not now, due to hormones and pregnancy, haha. But before i mated her she was very calm and easy. Not the way Archie is, but he's just crazy :P She's now gained 88 grams and weighes 404!

I promised i would take a picture of my cages, well this is our male appartment We have three and all three have their own floor, ofcourse. This one is 40 inches long and 20 inches deep. The female's appartment has three floors of 60x23 inches I'll make a pic of that one this evening

It was quite empty when i took this one :P Old picture tho.

Wow that's impressive! Are they nocturnal? The wild ones love snails and slugs-- what to you feed them? Do they need an exercise wheel? I can't imagine a hedgehog in a wheel . . .
