Looks like he's really enjoying himself FWIW my mom's chihuahua was about 8 years old when he was rescued but he was highly trainable and learned things after a couple of tries! Too bad he couldn't be trusted in a class because he wanted to kill all the bigger dogs

Congratulations on the arrival of Rogue. He really is super cute and very handsome. I am glad that he is settling down well and is making good progress at class.
He looks very smart in his coat - very important.

Howdy! I'm only new to this site but I HAD to comment on this thread. Rogue is adorable. I have such a soft spot for chihuahuas as we have two in our household.

The blue one is Berty, my sister's and the red/brown is Edwin, my own. They're both just coming up to a year.

They're a handful but such amazing little characters to have around. <3

Bloonstuff, gorgeous woofs. Rogue waves a paw

I haven't been around much as things have been very busy at Casa Vectis, both with work and with woof. Rogue has had a few visits to the vet with corneal ulcers so this week had sedation to try and figure out why. He was found to have an extra hair growing out of the inside of his upper eyelid and scratching on his eye which is fixable. He's booked in for surgery on Thursday. This was him after his sedation - sleeeeeeepy puppy!

Otherwise, he's growing in confidence and experiencing new things. We had a dog trainer round today for a one to one session which was really useful. Lots to practice!

This is Rogue enjoying the sun on Easter Sunday at an industrial museum (chosen because it allowed dogs! I learned a lot about brick making):

Good luck to Rogue for his surgery on Thursday, it looks and sounds like he's doing really well apart from that

It's been a little while since I updated this thread. Roguey has come on so well. The combination of getting his eye sorted, changing his food and putting into practice what the trainer suggested has really helped him become more confident and less anxious. We're booked in for our followup with the trainer. His eye hasn't troubled him since his mini-op so fingers crossed we never need the full anaesthetic version.

His favourite things are eating, sleeping, lap cuddles and going on long walks. He's enjoying day care, especially now I leave his car crate there each day so he has a safe place when he needs it.

We're still working on him managing with strangers and I suspect he'll never be a dog that rushes up to strangers for cuddles, but I was never expecting a chi that would. I'm getting better at keeping over-enthusiastic strangers at a distance from him, though it's a challenge. I've tried a yellow dogs lead, a bandana, a lead wrap and now I have a new harness for him to stick 'don't touch' labels to.

That first photo is adorable... I'm glad his eye has stopped bothering him now

I am so glad his eye is better. He is such a cutie. That harness is really nice. People should never touch a dog without permission. Even Chi's can bite if you get in their space. Sometimes people look at little dogs as toys.

Yoda LOVES all people and goes slighty out of his mind when my friends or family come in. Everyone gets hysterical watching him because Yoda smiles at them. My sister's mother-in-law can't get over his smile.

Honestly I had no idea about him for quite a while! I have a Chihuahua mixed breed, despite being a mutt fits the typical personality almost perfectly. Kinda sad that a well trained Chihuahua is almost the complete opposite of their stereotype; being a nippy ankle biter. He's a very handsome little guy though, and I'm glad his eye is better too.
