Default Ra and Anubis the Deprasi

Last Thursday I was asked to foster 2 pachyuromys Deprasi boys, but fell in love immediately and ended up adopting them straight away!
I'm new to keeping Deprasi so would appreciate it If anyone had any tips on what to give them as treats or anything like that, also if anyone is experienced with them how can you tell what age they are? As the rescue wasn't able to tell me how old they were
Ra is the one on the wooden house and the larger of the pair and Anubis is the smaller one in the close up
thank you in advance, Annaa x

Good Lord! They are so adorable! I wanted to get Duprasi but I can't get them here in the USA at all. Yours are lovely. I know there are members here on the forum who have them, so someone is sure to be able to give you info on these lovely little fluffs. Ach! Those little faces!

Hi, I googled them and the only thing about them came up in Wiki. Here is their food details from Wiki.
Fat-tailed gerbils are, as their pointed snout would suggest, mostly insectivorous in the wild, but will eat also a variety of plants. In captivity, they are kept on normal basic rodent mix, used to feed Mongolian gerbils or hamsters. They are particularly fond of mealworms, crickets, moths, and almost any other insect, even beetles. In addition, they can also be given some vegetables and fruit, like carrots, cauliflower, chicory, and apples. Because fat-tailed gerbils originated in dry areas and are not used to food which has high moisture content, they can get diarrhea after eating too much fruit and vegetable matter. Branches and twigs are rich in vitamins and very suitable besides their basic food, especially in winter. It is also good for their teeth, because they keep growing their whole life and by gnawing they keep their incisors at the right length. Hay is also very good for fat-tailed gerbils, because of its high fibre content.

I have never seen one before although I have had gerbils many many years ago.

They are so cute & adorable, glad they've found a good home with you.
I'd love to keep them but know very little really, there's some info on the Crittery exotics website but maybe not enough to really help.
I've seen posts about them here before so maybe if you just do a forum search for duprasi you'll find something.
