Default Our newest pets

What are they? More mice!

Yesterday we did a bit of a detour on the way home from the show at Fillongley and we had the pleasure of visiting Notts Nibblers Rodent Rescue. While we were there we got to have a lovely chat, Eggbiscuit gave one of the rescue owners a cuddle, we met some lovely rats and handled some of the boys, we saw a cute cat and we collected our lovely new ladies

We got seven girls altogether - Marjory, Escapeatron, Abigail, Phoenix, Jessica, Winifred and Tailoola. We're still learning to identify them and I have apologised to Notts Nibblers in advance incase we accidentally swap any names around but I've labelled the pics I can. I've put those pics I can't confidently label at the bottom.

Marjory

Marjory

Abigail (and some of the others)

Marjory and Escapeatron (and two faces)

Phoenix, Abigail and Marjory (and either Winifred or Tailoola)

Phoenix and Jessica (and most of either Winifred or Tailoola)

Winifred

They're mice Teddy and female mice are quite social - introducing females from different groups is usually a fairly straightforward process but these girls were all together at the rescue anyway (and Abigail is actually Winifred and Tailoolas Mum). Mice are generally intelligent and the females are definetly really social but male mice aren't half as easy to keep together normally. You also get the occasional less intelligent mouse but they're adorable nomatter how clever or otherwise they are

Thanks icklemunch The flying saucer is a spare 12" we had and we thought they might like it - they can definetly all share it if they want to lol

That's so nice that they can be together. Do the mice keep each other company? Play together?

Yeah they're really social, I'm pretty sure that all seven of these are asleep together at the moment, we routinely see our other group grooming each other and females can get quite miserable if kept alone

lol ours do better than that - we're sure one or two spots in the big group cage are designated grooming areas. Whenever we see mice there they're always grooming someone!
